Could you elaborate as to why you would need insurance? I've had no issues with the SDS100 that I've owned for several years. I suspect that I'm not alone.
To pay for the $90 repair cost, I assume.....

Somewhat like extended warranty on some items, generally not a good investment. Most retail that sell these make a good profit on them. Ask Best Buy, that’s why they push them so much.!
After regular 1 year warranty on Uniden, I figure it worked this long so it should continue and if a future problem I will just pay the repair, or Uniden will acknowledge a general problem and offer a free fix.

You may want to consider a Home Patrol 2. I’ve been happy with mine. But what ever you decide to get just make sure you can easily return it…just in case. Good luck

Once I remembered that the 325P2 has the tuneable P25 threshold I found I could tune it to work well on the GATTRS simulcast sites for Travis and Williamson Counties.

Since I don't use it mobile I can't say if it would work for that use.

You won't know until you get it.

I suggest you buy from a place with a return policy and see if it works for you.

Mine works great!
