Note 1: This is a REALLY unusual one (though probably not for whomever knows who/what it is). This sounds like school bus traffic. Mention of a "Coach Stanley" and a "Vocational Bus", another bus mentioning it's broken down with a flat, etc. It's the output of a P25 patch from somewhere. Any ideas? I think there was a "Coach Norville" mentioned in addition to "Coach Stanley". There are a TON of licensees on this frequency, and none of them are directly to an educational institution. I didn't check expired. It was quite loud.

Note 2: There are either two separate concrete companies on this frequency, or there is one company with two plants with two separate base stations I can hear. I can't tell if there are two PLs in use or not the way the station works. One of them was LOUD today!

Note 3: Caught a tone-out for Stickleyville FD (they had a business meeting tonight at 1800ET, hope you guys didn't forget). She cleared with "KNCU972" which isn't correct, that's one of their other licenses. Hadn't found this listed on the forum previously, but it was in the DB.

Note 4: Station only captures the last heard PL tone, which was OC FSP, so I don't easily know which agency this is. Heavy southern drawls, repeater has no hangtime, units have MDC on them. The way they talk, this is a very small place. "The church", etc. Couldn't catch any identifying information. They were smooshing OC FSP here in SoCal, gotta love lowband. Can't cover down the street, but it works on the other side of the country just fine. Based on a rudimentary search, my guess is this is Craig County, VA Sheriff's Department (WQAW220). Any confirmation?

Note 1: The traffic consisted of a county-originated EAS RMT (required monthly test - the one with the script). This must be an EAS PEP (primary entry point) for LA County so they don't have to completely rely on broadcast relays, and they can initiate alerts directly into broadcast stations via low-band. That's my guess anyway. This wasn't in the RRDB, oddly enough.

Note 2: DB says this is CSQ, but I caught an 88.5Hz PL on it. It was an EAS RWT (required weekly test - the one with no audio, just tones). @217 says he's caught this in the past and Orange County, CA has been mentioned, so I'm expecting that's what this is.

Note 3: Not sure if this was coming from Greene County, NC or not, but I was copying a lot of community siren alert type SCADA traffic (similar to the old Compulert stuff) before the voice traffic. Don't know if the channel is used for that stuff or not as well. Whatever it was, it was LOUD. Way too many licensees on that channel to sift through emission designators. Anyone know?

39.9000 and 210.7 are used by Mendon DPW, but without more context (street names and callsigns) low band identification is like Federal Monitoring a Freq and Tone alone do not ID a user/entity - more info is always needed

I didn't catch any addresses or whatnot. I can play the tape back and check again (or post it), but I'm pretty sure I scoured it for any useful information.

I agree entirely that a frequency and tone don't necessarily identify anything, hence the reason I'm hesitant to call this Mendon, MA and move on without additional confirmation. I always do my absolute best to confirm an agency using callsigns given (CWID or voice), street names, apparatus numbers, business/school names, etc. Those, combined with FCC database searches for licensees (current or expired) in those potential areas are usually sufficient confirmation for me. Ask @marvinsuggs, I'm constantly harassing him about how he confirmed things

I would agree, it not being Mendon as that is/was the DPW in recent years. and with traffic about busses and Coaches (Team sports?) doesn't match with DPW

Did some digging on Greene County, NC. Looks like their lowband VHF system on that particular frequency (39.980) has emission designators for AFSK data (albeit in the narrowband mode, dumb...), so they are probably using this same channel for siren activation.

The sirens I've heard on 39.9 are coming out of Nebraska and csq no ctcss. They always are fading like crazy here, a bit hard to identify.

Note 1: This is the guy I hear all the time rambling on and complaining about things and using the "F" word like it's going out of style. He mentioned the iron bridge on "Old Wheatland Road" and "Vincennes Road". That would put those roads in Knox County, IN. There is a license in Daviess County (a border county) that is expired, WPCA412 (Daviess County Stone). I wonder if that's these guys, or if perhaps the radios came from that company and they no longer use them.
