Thanks for all your hard work. Josh, Mike and me are working on our eastern part of state to add more information to the database.

Mike AKA "MTINDOR" won't know how to act when Dave and I install the 800 yagi.
I am sure you are talking about something bigger than this but I have been using some Hex and Flex antennas lately and I love them for the 800Mhz work. Sorry for off topic but they are good antennas for this type of work and the flat log spiral antennas are great for sticking to car windows. I used the Vivaldi directional antenna to pick up Lancaster from my top floor when my discone in the attic could not pull it out of the noise.

You have an impressive array of antennae for mobile sleuthing. Here, I do no mobile sleuthing. All of my sleuthing is done either from home or remote setups (at locations where people like firemantom and docsmachine are). So they already submit from their areas. And since I never scan when mobile, and never travel more than 45 minutes away, my sleuthing is limited by antennas here at the house. That's why Tom mentioned that I will be happy when he and Dave (a friend of ours) swap out my 770 mhz yagi with an 850 mhz yagi.

Thanks for the tips though. I only have two scanners for mobile sleuthing, if I were to mobile sleuth -- the RS-800 antenna and a mag mount mobile antenna that I'll likely never stuck on the roof of my new-to-me 2016 not-yet-paid-for truck lol.

I did some sleuthing today in Highland County and found P25 sites on the air at both Hillsboro and Winchester. EDACS sites are also still on the air at both locations.

Hillsboro
WACN: 92715
System ID: 002
RFSS: 053
Site: 053
NAC: 035
Control Channel: 857.0375
Peers:
92715-1F6-047-047 - CC 856.1875
92715-1F6-065-065 - CC 855.5875
92715-1F6-066-066 - CC 856.7875

Winchester
Unfortunately I think my dongle got fried somehow along the drive from Hillsboro to Winchester because on one laptop it would crash the system when I plugged it in and on another laptop it would not be recognized. I was able to confirm with my scanners,
WACN: 92715
System ID: 002
RFSS: 065
Site: 065
NAC: 041
Control Channel: 855.5875

Hope this helps fill in some of the gaps.

Do you have any historical records saved on your laptop by your sleuthing software that would confirm 857.0375 for Hillsboro? The reason why I ask is because nowhere is 857.0375 on an AEP license in Ohio, not an existing FCC license or a pending application.

Historically 857.0375 was indeed on WPCQ255 Hillsboro (Highland) license, but 857.0375 was deleted from the license (and two new freqs added) -- amendment granted 8/17/2018.

I'm going to add this to the DB, but I would appreciate it if you could confirm that you definitely were monitoring 857.0375 when youp icked up Site 53.53.

Thanks

Mike

855.5875 could be either Winchester (Highland) or Peebles (Adams). They are neighboring sites, and both are licensed with 855.5875. I am going to put the Winchester site in the Wiki page for the AEP P2 system, but I can't enter into the DB until further confirmation is able to be done to determine for sure that this is Winchester vs Peebles. Since your RTL dongle was not working and you had to use a scanner, you were not able to see any alternate control channel info (if any is even being broadcast). Some of the new sites are broadcasting a few alternative control channels, and some sites do not.

I'm not diminishing what you've gathered at all. it's useful and appreciated. I think we will need some further information in order to be able to actually nail down the site location.

Feel free to PM me or email me (my username @gmail) if you wish to disuss with me outside of the forum.

Thank you,

Mike

We might head out I70 to Route 33 later this spring to visit friends. If I have the chance I will check out 2.2, 40.40 and 42.42 if they haven't been nailed down by then.

If you do think about doing that later this spring, AND if it comes to mind to reach out to me, please do -- I'll provide you with the most up to date list (not everything is in the DB because it isn't all confirmed) and I'll give you a list of potential sites to check out on your route.

Thanks!

I am sure the information I posted is correct. I physically drove to the tower sites and ran multiple scanners (6 total) along the way to gather the information using search, analyze and close call modes.

The Hillsboro site was not showing any alternate channels, just the active control channel. UniTrunker did show the call sign as WQIL2B? (obviously not accurate) and the manufacture ID as M/A-COM, modulation C4FM.

Ok thanks. I added Winchester to the DB. If you are ever down that way again and have the opportunity to gather CC/AC and site neighbor information on Winchester, I'd appreciate it.

Take it easy,

Mike

Noticed today that the Leonard, OK site is now displaying different information with no neighbors. The last few weeks it had been showing isolated.
