I'm going to go out on a limb and say this would be the worst time to try to match things up...once this is over, a lot of temporary assignments will dissolve...maybe then make an attempt....? Unless someone has a better idea...
I suspect you are right. However I have a bunch of the ID 's for Police commander radios and the helicopters. I expect the city helo's will be good. Should be interesting to see who uses the current commander radios, etc. I think exec protection and a few other areas will be ok too as I think the radios are assigned to people who remain in same capacity.

In AACO it's sort of useless to record these as they are assigned to officers and they work all sorts of shifts. Changing so often it's not worth it.

Just wondering if a western district car has an actual radio in it and is always that same western district unit, regardless of who is operating it? If not... no use. Will just keep picking out specific portables as they have been keeping their assignments so far.

I tried that a few years ago- BPD radios are either ID-assigned or general pool. They don't match up to their sector numbers (8C1, 3B1, etc) at all, unfortunately. I got frustrated with that within a month of trying to do it for Southwestern only.

Probably the only ones that will be consistent at all are command level radios and special units such as tactical and aviation. They would be really nice to grab, actually.

Frankly, every unit-identified RID used in this would be great info. Wish I was still living up there with my PSR800 :)

On a related note, if you hear OC police in the area, it would be interesting to see if they're using 2688xxx RIDs or loaner radios from the cache.

Just came up on this thread. Has any one tagged National Guard freqs during this?

Thanks.

They are using the FiRST Statewide 700mhz system. They are on encrypted talkgroups. Some of their activity once in a while are on the statewide tac channels that are not encrypted.

I think I have started a fair list if special unit UID"s. I also expect that this ends up being a good time to pick these up, as they are all active, even though it's a lousy time for looking at normal ID's.
Seeing some of the "passed out" radios that will probably find their way back into a box for a while when this is over.

I've heard a lot of different "mutual aid" contributors but not OC so far. If I do I'll let you know what ID.

I guess only the specifically identified UID's are all i am really collecting. I had a good DB of fire units at one point. Enough to know they remained relatively stable except for portables and reserve unit substitutions. Guess I'll resume collecting those.

I'm seeing a City TG 9116, can anyone confirm? Sounds like another TAC channel or Special Events?

I started hearing it last night. It is a police Tac channel. Just heard again as I send this. Not a command type tac channel but talking about taking pictures. Seems like a surveillance type conversation, following the "asset". Similar type conversations as I've been hearing on 9148, which is also active tonite.

This appears to be another undocumented talkgroup on the city system.

Since I posted that I've paused on that TG....almost sounds like something that should've been encrypted but isn't. Maybe got activated last-minute for this event?

It's not used regularly. Clearly related to this situation. I would post more but you probably know why I am not.

Every night around 9:45 we must be stacking 8-10 helicopters over the intersection of North and Pennsylvania. I hear trooper 8 on FiRST, a couple city helos making announcements, at least 3 news choppers.

The latest announcement was for everyone to get off the street, media included. Like last night there are more media there than anyone else. Last night everyone finally just went home and left the media there talking to and about themselves.

State's Attorney is supposed to make an "announcement" soon.

Per live TV, it looks like they are deploying a lot of police and military throughout the city.

So uh....

Anyone heard anything on FRS/GMRS frequencies? That sure looks like a walmart-sold portable...

EDIT: Then again, guess at least a CSM gets a FiRST portable (sorry for the image-ridden post):

EDIT 2: Come to think of it, I think that guy's the 1stSgt for the whole MD National Guard.

EDIT 3: Also saw a photo from RT that appeared to show a PRC152 on someone's vest, so they might be using some native freqs too. As far as I know, Harris hasn't written any P25 TDMA firmware to plug into the 152.

That's a Keystone patch - PA Guard? Could the FRS radio be for intel purposes?

The keystone patch is for MD National Guard. Actually, I think it's the 28th ID patch.

Mostly the Baltimore PD seems to be working directly with local police departments.

Maryland and Pennsylvania State Police seem to be doing their own thing.

City and County helos working with BPD and that command post. Trooper helos working with MSP, doing their own thing not necessarily coordinated with BPD, using MSP Truck 1 as command post.

Conversations for the most part seem to be staying on their own systems, however I did hear Pennsylvania State Police who have been operating on the FiRST MD Tac channels contact the city command on 10a 9010 today to report an emergency medical situation and have BPD respond a medic.

One of the few direct conversations on the same system and the first I've heard which confirmed they had a BPD radio or capability direct.

BPD seems to be directing when NJ, PA, MD state police, or even the guard need moved or deployment modified, but typically a BPD officer is assigned to those units and does the direct comms with BPD command, other than AACo, Howard, Harford, BaltCity and some other locals that communicate direct.
