The battery situation reminds me of the incomplete Siren Application which is still incomplete to this date. Where still waiting for the version where users can control ALL functions of the scanner as promised. smh

where is it????

I am sorry now I bought my scanner. WHERE is the decent battery? It is October 19th!!!!!!

Pitiful. No emails, no info. Pathetic.

You need to be excoriated because you deserve it. I like the radio well enough, except it has a HUGE
appetite for power. And when I bought my radio, you already admitted the battery was too small...and I would get an upgrade.
Get your act together. Fulfill your commitment. DO IT NOW!!!

Sad actually. Such over promise and under deliver. You should be ashamed.

From UpMan in the other thread.

At this time, our supplier still cannot provide me with a confirmed date that I'll receive these. Yes, I'm just as frustrated about this as some of you are.

The "supplier"

Wasn't this the claim on the wifi dongle issues for the 536? Seems like there are a lot of outside vendor problems with the Uniden scanner lines. Perhaps it's time to re-evaluate the vendors' capabilities and demand better if that is the case.

One concern (not a complaint, just frustration - there is a difference), I see availability and even got an estimated ship date for the battery charger (with larger battery) but if we don’t get our promised battery and new door, I won’t be able to use the included larger battery that comes with the charger. What a mess, but I AM A HAPPY SDS100 owner.

I must say that I am one of those few that has been very disappointed with this radio and the fact that it does not deliver what I thought it would or as advertised. This is not a debate calling for being flamed by fans who will turn it around and make it my fault, just a personal observation. I wish that I had taken that money and put it towards trading my apx 7000 for a apx 8000. The SDS 100 just doesn't fit my needs and applications as a portable device mainly because of low volume and of course a SHORT BATTERY LIFE. The many other problems the radio has would not affect me as much as I would sit on one Phase 2 talk group using a long system hold time ignoring the NAC. The nip it in the bud announcement worked for a while to keep people happy but Uniden it's time for a public update as to when the new battery will be coming as promised. It's only fair to those who spent their hard-earned money for this radio. Thank you. PS before I get flamed here the reason I bought the radio was I believed all the advertising and hype so I do take some responsibility here. I am using the latest FW and the radio is properly programmed. Now, you can Flame away. HaHaHa.
great post Trentbob, patience does have a limit

Bob I am not going to flame you a lot of time was spent trying to get the firmware close. It is better but as you and others that know and use commercial radios know how to program the systems we can only wish they keep working on it and keep improving. Bob have you sent in any troubleshooting files to UpMan yet?

a very good point, now I have heard a rumor of a "fix" in the works for the VHF issue by the end of the year according to someone who called Uniden, I am definitely a person who would be accused of being a fanboy, I love the SDS100, but for the price point you would expect a better level of service than this, or at least an explanation of what's going on, no I still won't buy a whistler because it doesn't have GPS so its useless to me, but Cmon Uniden.

Is this rumor of a fix in hardware or firmware, from experience of other brands, fixes in firmware normally tend to be botches that don't work very well.

where is the large battery you promised

SDS100 SCANNER. purchased with promise of larger replacement battery & cover. ASAP- NO COST. Has Uniden sent any;one a replacement battery yet? bothers me when AMAZON offers an external battery charrger and sends the new larger battery with it. UNIDEN should be ashamed of them selves. I think they have their priorities going in the wrong directrion.. YES I did go into My Uniden and update all my information. OK now what is your excuse???

You answered you're own question they will send you the free battery asap. Endless threads about it are not going to get it to you or me or anyone any faster.
