Can someone elaborate on the new "notable incidents section for storage of interesting audio archives" feature?

Part of the "premium" features is "no advertisements" Where are these ads going to be? Just banner ads on the website or are there now going to be commercials during our broadcasts?

Thanks,
Chad

Why hasn't this question been answered yet???

Where are these advertisements going to be?? Are they going to be banner ads on the site and in the webplayer or are you going the sleazy route of putting audio playover ads on the feeds??

I am very lost I guess. So if I am understanding this right, my feed is being moved to this broadcastfi thing whatever and coming off of RR and when this happens I am going to pay for my RR Premium. Now I understand moving to bigger and better things we all do it. But why do we lose our RR Premium? As feed providers we spend the money on the gear to first scan whatever we want to provide (In my case its a PROVOICE system and PROVOICE radios not cheap!) 2nd we give up a computer to provide the feed, 3rd we pay for the internet to get the feed out of our house and to the world, and then we repair, watch, maintain, the feed from our end to give to others. We do all that out of our own pokets and free time. Now your going to change everything and make money doing so, we are not stupid, and then make us pay for our RR Premium and give us some new thing for free that I have no use for as I use RR for much more then the live audio feeds.

So my question is this I am going to lose my RR Premium account enless I am willing to fork out more cash to you guys to keep it!?!?!?

Prior to the purchase of the live feed portion by Radio Reference, did the feed providers get a free premium membership to Radio Reference? If not, how did they manage to keep their feeds current?

How many of the current feeds/providers were migrated from the old site when they were merged following the RR purchase? Is it mostly newer providers doing the complaining or are those that were migraged from Gordon's site complaining as well?

Nope, feed providers for ScanAmerica.us didn't receive any compensation at all.

Almost all of them, only a small number decided to stop providing a feed.

Yes, I believe so.

Question...

Even the loss of one customer (or even one potential customer) should concern any CEO, founder, and/or president of any type of company, including radioreference. The whole "mightier than thou" attitude doesn't bode will with a lot of individuals, especially those that have contributed significantly to the success of said company. That being said, does it bother anybody at radioreference that customers may be lost because of these changes, no matter how insignificant the number of estimated losses may appear to you?

Good luck to everyone involved, and try not to be too emotional about all of this. There are far bigger things to be worried about in life.

Why are you still skipping over the questions like they don't exist?? I am guess because the answers are too painful??

Why are you guys willing to give me a $6.95 value free membership to Broadcastify but take away my $2.50 a month value of premium on RR???

I think it would be much more feasible for you to allow us to pick and choose. I would rather have RR premium if i continue my feeds after the changeover. If you give me RR premium instead of Broadcastify premium after the changeover i would probably continue my feeds.

I seem to recall reading them before myself. From my perspective, and I have no hand in Broadcastify, it appears to me people are not happy with the answers to the questions they are being given and there's not much that can be done about that.

My understanding is they'll be within the page, and not within the stream.

This has been covered before when it's been asked. I'm sorry if the answer is not good enough for everyone. The sites are being split apart and will no longer act as one. There can no longer be management from a logistical perspective that allows sharing of premium membership from one site to another. They will essentially be two different businesses despite who runs them. You cannot mix them together. And if Lindsay did allow DB comp's what happens if he hands off the reigns to someone else? Then we're back at this AGAIN.

OK I provide a feed sure, I could care less about the other site or access to it. I would like to keep access to the database on RR so I can keep my scanner current as well as others that I program from time to time. So Can I just pay the Premium fee for RR and not worry about the other site? Sure it was nice to get that for FREE for a while but I paid for access before and actually I was thinking about paying anyway because I hated that it dropped off if the feed went down.

Correct.

Also, note that you'll still have access to RadioReference.com's database even if you don't subscribe (but you wouldn't be able to use a program that pulls information from the database to program your scanner without doing so).

The advertisements on Broadcastify will be implemented exactly the same as they are currently on RadioReference.com today. There will be no changes in advertising strategy, and we have no plans on putting advertising in actual audio streams.

Feed Bonus Incentives?

Lindsay,

Question: Will Broadcastify offer Feed providers bonuses incentives for maximum listeners at one time on a particular feed (Big Incident) Example: 1500 listeners and upwards as has/had been done with Radio Reference?

If this has been mentioned before elsewhere in "other" RR forums please forgive the duplication.

Thanks Again,

Jersey_Ken

Did my question get lost in the current conversation:roll:?
Please
Thank You Again.

The frequency database and the forums...
RadioReference.com - Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference Database

The archives will be at broadcastify.

Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 2

So with the data base of frequencies and ID tags being maintained on RR, will there be a charge to "Update" my frequency and ID tag data base on RR or will this be available to the feed providers on the new websight? I would hope that the ability to update these necessary items would be available to the feed providers at no cost..Dave

Are you referring to using software to download data from RR? In order to do this it requires a premium subscription, so you would have to purchase a premium subscription.

Just to clarify, the RR database of frequencies and talkgroups will still be free, but to use scanner programming software to import them directly from RR into the software will require a premium subscription. To lookup and manually enter them into your scanner (either directly or via software) will still be free. Is this correct?

I don't use any software to download anything. I have a Pro 2096 and I simply go onto the RR websight periodically when I capture an "new talkgroup" id number to identify it and type in the Talkgroup ID name. I just want to be able to continue to go onto the RR websight and print out the 16 page list in talkgroup numerical order and check it against my scanner. When I see and save a new talkgroup, I refer to the printed list and if it is there I add the name of the talkgroup to the scanner. New talkgroup ID's are sometimes added and it is nice to keep my scanner up to date. I just want to be able to go onto the RR websight, view and print the talkgroup id lists.....Can I still do this or must I do it on the 89th day of my 90 day membership? Thanks for the insight, Dave
