Not sure if this was answered but none of my Favorite feeds are listed on the home page as they did on RR Where would they be?

We added a "Add to MyBCFY" option for each feed - it currently redirects back to RadioReference but should get you going in the mean time.

We soon plan on rolling out MyBCFY so your favorites list will be on Broadcastify.

Having problems listening on Broadcastify on my IPad

Guess it's been awhile since I listened to any feeds. I'm a premium subscriber to Radio Reference, and I have some favorite feeds. I attempted to listen to a couple of them on my IPad, and wasn't successful. They were online, and I logged in. I tried both web player, and ITunes, to no avail. It seemed to say it supported mobile platforms. If anyone can help out and fix this, please let me know. I liked the old system, as it was simple, and worked. Another question - Am I to understand that I will have to start paying $6.95 a month, on top of already paying for a premium subscription on RadioReference? The main reason I got the premium was to listen to feeds. Please advise. Thanks

Dawn You NEVER had to pay to listen to any feed...Paying was ONLY to access the database and other features of RR. Listening to the feeds has always been FREE....Also Try Scanner Radio its an app in the Itunes store...Its has easy access to the feeds

Okay, sorry for the confusion. I believe I already have the Scanner Radio app. Will use that from now on to access my favorite feeds.

I'm able to listen to feeds fine on my PC. I think it's an Apple issue, but I was able to listen on the Scanner Radio app I have on there, so that works well.

We soon plan on rolling out MyBCFY so your favorites list will be on Broadcastify.

More info:
To access BCFY & any saved Favorites, use this link:
Log in to BCFY here: My Broadcastify

To save a feed as a fav, go to that feed & you should see a "Add to MYBCFY" button.
Click on it. it currently redirects back to RadioReference but should get you going in the mean time.

See above to access the saved fav on BCFY.

Lindsay has not completely decided yet but the MyBCFY link will most likely be linked to as part of the premium page and the user's profile page when implemented.

I have deleted all the OT post that have recently appeared. Let this serve as final warning, the purpose of this thread is a question and answer discussion ONLY. I am going to start issuing infractions for ANY off topic post. We have said multiple times what the purpose of this thread is and we would like to keep it that way.

Loving the switch to Broadcastify so far! But one question I didn't see asked anywhere so I hope it's not a repeat...

Since the split into RadioReference and Broadcastify if you go into a County page on RR and click the Live Audio tab it automatically reroutes over to the County Broadcastify page but I notice on the Broadcastify end the "County Home" tab that used to be on the RR County feed page is no longer there. It was a nice quick way to get back to the RR page for the County and get to the wiki for those areas that have station numbers and other things listed to be able to follow along. Any chance on getting that link to the RR "County Home" added back on to the Broadcastify side?

Otherwise though, great work! Love the change!

Scroll bar on feed details page?

I was wondering why there's a horizontal scroll bar on the feed detail pages. On this particular laptop with a resolution of 1366x768, a scroll bar is present; and this appears to be the approx threshold for horizontal scrolling as there's no scroll bar at higher resolutions.

I've tested in Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer, and have found it to be browser independent.

With the main content of the page being ~977px, I don't see why there'd be a scroll bar unless browser size or display resolution were lower than that. So it would seem there's something within the feed detail code that's causing a horizontal scroll bar to appear.

Broadcastify maps and navigation

Good morning,

On Broadcastify, if I want to search for Marine-related audio streams in Virginia, two navigation methods become obvious:

Either method 1:
  • Click "Listen" > "Browse Feeds" in horizontal nav bar
  • Click "Marine" in horizontal nav bar to see "Marine" map for whole US
  • Click Virginia's shape in the map
or method 2:
  • Click "Listen" > "Browse Feeds" in horizontal nav bar
  • Click Virginia's shape in the map to see "All feeds" map for Virginia
  • Click "Marine" in horizontal nav bar
In method 1, Virginia is grey in the US map, indicating no marine feeds exist. In method 2, no similar hint is encountered.

The last step for both methods ends at the same place on what appears to be a page-stub.

Should the "Virginia/Marine" page display a grey map, so that viewers navigating by method 2 will conclude that "no feeds exist" instead of concluding something like "page did not load correctly" or "page not yet developed"?

Just curious.

Thanks,

Note: While a lifelong radio hobbyist, kit builder, antenna nerd, etc...I am not very computer- or internet-savvy.

And yes, I have read this thread in its entirety before posting here.

I have never been able to access Broadcastify since it replaced the RR live audio. I feel have exhausted my resources at this point. I have tried changing browser settings and following all sorts of instructions I found in online searches (such as the site DownUpTime). All I ever see is "Web Content Denied" when I attempt to access any page of Broadcastify, even the home page. I have no idea what else I can do to attempt to remedy the situation.

The problem exists whether I attempt to redirect from an old bookmarked RR audio link, or if I type in Broadcastify.com directly.

I miss RR's old audio and I will "put my money where my mouth is" and pay for subscriptions to both RR and Broadcastify if necessary-- if only I could access the audio! Which does make me wonder if for some reason I need to pay (but where?) in order to log in to Broadcastify. Any guidance is appreciated.

I might be wrong, but that message sounds like some kind of security setting on your computer is preventing the page from loading.
  • Is there any kind of message bar that pops-up that would indicate a reason -- example: "cross-site scripting blocked."?
  • Do you have a firewall turned on? If so, is it configured to allow full access to Broadcastify.com?
  • Does your browser allow you to add "permitted domains" to a white-list?
    • In Internet Explorer (at least in IE 8), this would be located by clicking "Tools" menu > "Internet Options" > "Security" tab > "Trusted Sites" > "Sites" button. Then enter the URL for the site you wish to white-list (without the extra spaces): www . broadcastify . com

Hope this helps,

Not sure why you cannot get to Broadcastify.com.
I can with all browsers (Chrome, IE, FF, Safari) on Windows, Mac, iOS & Android without any problems even when not loged in as a live audio admin.

We did have that malicious Javascript inserted into a few components of the site a while back. Have you cleared your browser cash & cookies & make sure you are accepting cookies?

Otherwise, there is no diff from the RR connection to BCFY.

Folks, thank you for your replies.

I am prohibited from editing any setting on the computer...now I am guessing it may be because I access the 'net from military/government computers. I never thought anyone would mind me visiting a site with just audio feeds on it, but I am thinking that someone must. Adult sites, online casinos, etc. I can understand, but blocking us from accessing scanner audio when we are on personal time seems a bit extreme.

Several network-administration elements could be involved, including:
  • From a security perspective, certain streaming systems open certain vulnerabilities across networks and on individual computers. In some networks, the NetAdmins will take a stop-everything-until-identified approach and initially block all streaming at the outer-most firewall, only allowing exceptions when written approval is granted.
  • Also, some networks are not designed for high-volume heavy-bandwidth traffic. In those cases, NetAdmins will protect network stability and speed by disallowing streaming and video-conferencing.
  • Also, even though NetAdmins might allow certain online activities on their computers/network (like certain games) during "personal time" that are disallowed during "office-hours", other activities might be limited regardless.
  • With respect to the military/government network(s), some are behind multiple firewalls with different agencies controlling the firewalls. A local NetAdmin might not be able to change a firewall-block setting, but might be able to clarify which entity's firewall is enforcing it.
Maybe it would be worth the effort to talk with your local NetAdmin about what is involved in accessing the site or at least the reason(s) it is being blocked. Sometimes the "reasons" can be resolved, especially if the firewall-block is controlled locally.

Hope this helps,
