I didn't expect much to happen on this, and it seems I was right. I've kept quiet for a while as well as to not create a stink. I just want to point out that I have been lurking around many of the US boards (every state has one!!!) and some of those states are very quiet, it you are concerned with keeping each board constantly active, maybe you should trim down the states? Obviously, that is a very bad idea, and would take a lot of work, and piss a ton of people off. But, how much work would it be to split the eastern Canada into Eastern (Quebec/Ontario) and Maritimes (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, Newfoundland)... Nobody would really get annoyed, it would make some folks happier, and take such little work.
Seems like a good idea on it's face. What would be the most appropriate though. Would you include NL and make the group the Atlantic Provinces? Or would you want to split the Maritime Provinces from NL and put NL with QC Land mass and location are poor factors to consider for splitting forums. But, how much work would it be to split the eastern Canada into Eastern (Quebec/Ontario) and Maritimes (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, Newfoundland)... I'm not totally sold either, maybe an argument for would be: making it easier for newbies to post to a local audience. If you're going to split it up, and I'm not totally sure I see a reason to, but if - I think this would be the most appropriate split:
Ontario, Quebec, Atlantic Canada + territories, Prairies, BC.
Right Just take the plus sign out from between AC and Territories and it would seem a sensible division. So you're saying that Yukon, NWT and Nunavut would be tossed in with the Atlantic Provinces? That doesn't really make to much sense..
That would make "Atlantic Canada territories" - which makes less sense. I think you meant take out the + and replace it with a comma. But it makes even less sense still to have a forum for the territories, and the what.. 3 messages per year? (that number is a complete guess)Right Just take the plus sign out from between AC and Territories and it would seem a sensible division.

But, what I've decided on is to create a few sub-forums for the busy "metro" areas. We'll see where it goes from there.
