Well the old analog system is still alive and kicking.

Deschutes PW is back. Maybe they took a really long weekend. :)
Solid Waste department is still on.
Airport Security/TSA is still on.

And once in a while, some police officer keys up on the wrong system trying to call dispatch.

I switched to the Mt Hood site to see if there was any traffic from the Eagle Creek fire and saw that Deschutes County SO dispatch is being simulcast up there. Too bad it's encrypted. :(

Hmm, 9214 should be unencrypted. I think it may have sounded encrypted as there hasn't been much voice and they seem to be having issues with it. I did hear someone say something about "reflective material."

My guess is it's going to be Deschutes County PW. I've got a bunch of radio IDs affiliating to it.

Ok that makes sense. When I heard them I was playing back recordings on my TRX-1 and I got two recordings on 9214 that were just a few seconds long....maybe someone just had an open mic for a second or two then.

I submitted an update to have the old analog system moved to the Deprecated Systems page.

I have a thought. Wouldn't it be possible to program in the system input frequencies to a scanner and create a kind of a "police near by" detector? Communications would still be encrypted, but detected. My Uniden can be set to produce an audio alert when something is received. I guess the correct ID's would be need to be added to filter out non-police traffic though. I have not tried this yet but post the idea for thoughts. Maybe a cold winter day project. :)

Had a chance to try monitoring the ORSP from Black Butte Ranch while spending some time there recently. Was only receiving the File Mile site and the only transmissions heard were DCSO's encrypted transmissions on 9021. Don't recall hearing any OSP transmissions but there may have been but not noted due to the heavier traffic on 9021 No Yamhill County activity noted on that site although I did hear it on the West Salem site back during the eclipse weekend. Man, those fire tapouts are really strange sounding tones. I also heard from that site that weekend activity on 9014 with both encrypted and clear traffic with a mention of Highway 18 so perhaps something from McMinnville??? Also, 40121 which sounded like OSP's Capitol Security. Additionally, 40421 identified as "Events 10" so perhaps ODOT? And, 40015 testing along with 40919 as Polk County SO. From my notes, I also wrote down 38114 as OSP, 38115 as OSP 18 units, 38117 as OSP Salem 21 units, 40223 as ODOT along with the three Yamhill County TGs that have been noted elsewhere in the state: 40901, 40902 and 40903. Of course, OSP was extremely busy the day of the eclipse.

40121 is an ODOT talkgroup. Probably district 2B Portland Metro Events. Still trying to confirm
40421 is ODOT District 10 Events
40015 is ODOT Wireless Section Radio Techs (ODOT "R" Units)
38114 is OSP McMinnville
38115 is OSP Banks
38117 is OSP Salem
40223 is ODOT District 3 McMinnville
40901 is McMinnville Police Dispatch
40902 is Yamhill County Law Dispatch
40903 is Yamhill County Fire Paging with the 2-tone alerts followed by a hi-low alarm

You didn't happen to try site 110 did you? Was wondering if it went that far.

Yamhill is only coming through on Powell Butte site. Not sure why they're still relaying over here.

OSP is almost non-existent on the system here. About 8 radios were programmed, then the techs seemingly stopped programming them. As far as I know, OSP cannot communicate with Deschutes, Bend or Redmond PDs. There was supposed to be a bridge in place until the end of August, but that only happened a couple of times. And of course, the analog system is gone now.

9xxx are Deschutes county talk groups
38xxx are OSP talk groups
40xxx are ODOT talk groups.
