The DB used to show 9024 as DCSO SAR 1 but now it says DCSO Car-2-Car and its marked "E" for encrypted. Also 38152 OSP La Pine is also marked "E" for encrypted. Is this correct?

No. I'm not real happy with the changes. Not what I sent up.

9024 is SAR 1
9025 is SAR 2
38152 is unencrypted

I also sent a lot of 9000 series talkgroup information and it was all ignored.

If you thought traffic was bad around central Oregon, just add some stupid eclipse and shake vigorously.

Is that channel unencrypted? I guess that the reason I don't hear anything on the OSRP, I am trying to hear encrypted channels...DOH... guess that doesn't work.

"SAR Command" is quite active today on TG 9024. Probably due to the Level 2 evacuation alert of Crossroads because of the Milli Fire.

Just use those 5 frequencies shown and not any of the others. You can add other sites later if you need to.

769.71875
770.21875
770.94375

Tried just these as control channels...no joy.
Was reading that others had less than optimal reception in the 800mhz band with the Scantenna (that I am using). Guess I will build a coax collinear for 800mhz, just for kicks and see if I get anything.

I'll be scanning this system mobile while visiting for the eclipse (dare I admit that? I'll tread lightly). I notice a lot of the posts mention just the Powell Butte or Awbery sites are the ones important to scan. Are the other sites up and active for the TG's in their area, or is it so new that some sites might be transmitting a CC but not be fully clicked into the system yet, thus the scanner locks onto a solid CC but no traffic. I figured the southern sites like Walker, Sugarpine, Wampus would have at least the OSP LaPine patch on it? Or should I not let the scanner decide the site and be programming each site into its own system/scanlist so I can turn them "on/off manually" as needed? I'm using a WS1098. I don't get much PhaseII trunk experience in the real NorCal.

I recognize a few usernames here from the old yahoogroup nwscan days. :) Hi Oregon - it's been a while.

Cryptd, I see in your screen shots you have the OSRP system set as Motorola Type II. It shows (MOT2) next to the system name. Motorola Type II systems can do P25 voice on talkgroups but that doesn't mean its actually a P25 system.

For true P25 systems like the OSRP you need to choose "P25 Standard" when creating a new system. It will show (P25S) next to the system name.

Hope it helps.

The OSP patches haven't been full time. Really hit or miss. Not sure why. I still see OSP units calling DCSO dispatch 1 on the old 800 system and of course getting no reply. Powell Butte is probably the best in the area and has a pretty wide coverage. It doesn't relay some of the local talkgroups though. 9005 for instance, which was the FAIR EVENTS channel (Not sure what its official name is), is not on the OSRP system, just the Awbrey freqs. If you use the Cline Butte 800, you won't get any traffic from Bend PD groups. So... If you can get Awbrey, use it first. If not, use Powell Butte.

Hope that helps. :)

Thanks that did it, getting 5 bars, full signal too. That encrypted voice is just bizarre sounding.

...also getting 40902 and 40903, Yamhill...not programed into scanner and really loud volume on those numbers.

Yeah, I locked out Yamill area stuff. The fire tapouts really sound funky digitized.

Starting to see some new users.

9244 BEND PUBLIC WORKS - STREETS

Supposedly, the old analog 800 is to be shut down by end of month. We'll see...

Feels like we are witness to the end of an Age.

I had a couple brief encrypted noise on 9014 and 9917.
Also 61552, just saw one hit in the freeScan log.

Seems strange that you have to program in a channel so that you can lock it out.

OSP and ODOT radios started being reprogrammed today. Some OSP last night. No units here using the OSP BEND talkgroup though.

OSP SALEM is being relayed for some reason. Started at 5pm.

BEND PUBLIC WORKS so far:
9242 BEND PUBLIC WORKS - MAIN OPS
9244 BEND PUBLIC WORKS - PROJECTS 1
9246 BEND PUBLIC WORKS - PROJECTS 2
9254 BEND PUBLIC WORKS - WATER

9232 REDMOND PUBLIC WORKS

Deschutes County public works has disappeared. No traffic on analog system. Only users still using the old system today are Public Safety Campus Maintenance and Solid Waste Department. Haven't seen anything from the Airport / TSA radio talkgroup.
