Duke Energy P25 is coming alive in NC

Couple of updates around the Raleigh area...

Site 397-4.4 has changed CC to 856.9000, unsure if scheduled rotation or permanent change.
Site 397-46.46 has changed CC to 857.8375, unsure if scheduled rotation or permanent change.

Also, unlike last week, both sites are silent this morning.

Another change found...

Site 397-51.51 has changed CC to 859.8875, unsure if scheduled rotation or permanent change.

It too is silent today.

Looks like it is coming closer to actually being an active system. They've been testing each radio, in order, today to make sure that CAR_3 radios all work on TG 62014, 64 of them so far. This was on site 397-46.46 METHOD INTERPATH in Raleigh. Unfortunately no GPS data seen yet.

Now, if anyone reading this post happens to know what CAR_3 area is, I'll be happy to leave your name out of it if you send me a DM

Duke Energy has apparently started using at least some of the sites, Raleigh's Method Interpath Site 397-46.46 has been busy today with RID aliases and LRRP/GPS data showing up on the DSD+FL LRRP.exe program.

SDRTrunk just added TDMA control channel support in the latest nightly build so I decided to try the Spindale Duke Energy site. So far it looks like they're sending out test calls every ten minutes (I assume that's what the auto message means) and some data calls.

During a trip to Fayetteville today I was able to identify and confirm two new sites, 397-59.59 and 397-66.66. In addition, I was able to identify 4 neighbors (NOT confirmed). The new sites were submitted to the database and the RR Duke Energy 397-3D4 RR wiki page updated with unconfirmed sites 2, 10, 50 & 52. Hope those with DSD+FL or similar software will continue to watch for more Duke Energy sites, they are out there.

Site: 53.53 Channel 8-664: 855.1625-1 CC

Possibly the RDU site but not confirmed.

I will actually be back in the area for a few weeks coming up soon. Certainly, I will be sure to check for some new Duke P25 sites.

3D4-82.82 is showing as a neighbor on many sites. This is almost certainly the "Winston-Salem MW" site in Forsyth County, but, unfortunately, I have a strong American Electric Power control channel on that frequency, so I cannot receive it at this time. I will have to drive closer to the site when I get the chance.

3D4-1.1 is showing as a neighbor to the Al's Knob site (see below) with a control channel of 854.4375. This is very likely "Albemarle Radio" (WNSK751) in Stanly County.

Here is what I can currently copy:

"Click Peak Radio" -- Yadkin County, NC -- WRWJ791


"Al's Knob Radio" -- Rowan County, NC -- WNPW328

All other neighbors besides 3D4-1.1 and 3D4-82.82 have been previously confirmed.

I'll be working the next two days (16 hour days) but I'll look at all the data and update the Wiki if it isn't done already as well as my google earth files and our G-sheets probably on Sunday.
