A MAP cannot dictate the final sales price. If it does, it's not a MAP, and that potentially violates antitrust laws.

As I said before, these promotions are not hidden from the EBay sellers...EBay sellers are advised in advance of these promotions so that they can avoid this very situation.

No they don't. eBay plays their cards close to the vest when it comes to "site wide" coupons like that and bonus eBay Bucks promos. The only time vendors are made aware of upcoming promotions is when they are invited to participate in particular programs, like the current "PERFECT10" promo.

I'm guessing Uniden has better lawyers than we do that have worked our the legalities of this long ago.

Every Court case has a winner and a loser

I suppose. Who wants to volunteer to bite the bullet and spend thousands of dollars to get an attorney and go to court just to save $100 on a scanner?

My point, which seems to have been missed, is that there are three lawyers in every Court Room - The Plaintiff, The Defendant, and The Judge.
Only ONE has an opinion that matters.

Cases that go to SCOTUS showcase the best lawyers in the United States. And still, one walks out a winner and one walks out a loser.

So Uniden can have great lawyers. That does NOT make them right.

Which one is the one that matters? In a normal trial, a jury of regular everyday people off the street is the opinion that matters.

the only OPINION that matters is that of the lawyer wearing the black robe.

Jurors are finders of FACT, not of OPINION.

Or to put it another way, let's say someone sues uniden over this issue.
The Plaintiff moves for a summary judgement or a trial.
The Defendant moves to dismiss.
Each thinks they are correct on the Law.
The JUDGE, the one wearing the robe, decides if there will be a dismissal or a trial (also depending on whether there are any facts that are in dispute. The fact that the seller raised the price $100 would not be in dispute. Whether Uniden forced him to do it would be in dispute, and would be a fact to be decided by a jury, if it goes that far).
The OPINION of the Judge is the only one that matters.

Looks like Paul might be suffering from delirium. First, he forces an authorized retailer advertise the price of a product well above MSRP, then he basically tells a user to piss up a rope. Something's off with Paul.
