Can some of you all look at these frequencies and tell me what you think. one is showing up as cap+ on my sds100 and the other is showing it's way to far away for me to be picking it up but everything that comes back on it is right.

461.6500 shows This on my scanner and shows This as where it's from and i'm in virginia and thats in indiana i'v searched it in va and ky and wv but nothing comes back as even being DMR.

451.67500 shows "Brian Station High School" in the database Here and my scanner shows that as well but it's fayette Co in kentucky which is a long way's from me and i'm not picking anything else up from fayette Co.

The 461.6500 i would like to figure out if it is a trunked freqs i am picking up it's not real active and i have let my sds100 sit on it with the LCN finder but it hasn't found one yet.

And then there is 462.2500 which is showing IDAS and NXDN Here is a clip showing what it's doing, is this trunked or what? This is what DSDPlus shows and This maybe what i circled in red can help .

Any help on these would be much appreciated i have noticed these for awhile but when searching them out the location just never added up.

Hi, welcome to the forum. Data in the Radioreference database is confirmed and added by scanner listeners. It's not a data dump of the FCC database. So everything is not in it. Quite a lot is in there and it's taken many years to build. If you find a frequency that's not in the database, and you can confirm the use, feel free to submit it. Or please share it with your state forum. Others near you might enjoy helping figure out the user and help confirm it. That's a lot of fun.

There are links to do fcc database queries by latitude and longitude, feel free to use those for searching for fcc licenses. You can also do a Statewide search by frequency.

Regards Richard

It looks like you are doing queries of the RR database. Have you also done queries of the FCC data? You can perform queries of FCC Licenses by Frequency and State.

This might help you to identify frequencies that are not included in the RR database. You might be able to find licensed locations closer to your location (and within listening range) to provide clues as to who is using the frequency.

462.25 might be Two Way Radio Service Co in Hanover WV (Wyoming Co)
- FCC Callsign WPBK277 (TWO WAY RADIO SERVICE CO. INC)

461.65 could be a zillion things.

Here is a possibility for 461.65. Phelps, KY is only 30miles from Grundy. This was found via query of FCC Licenses in KY.

Some questions for you:
Do you hear voice traffic on 461.65? Do you hear addresses that are dispatched? Are these locations in Pike County KY?
<edit> What does dsd+ show for this frequency?

There are a couple of clues that lead me to believe that you are receiving AMR in Phelps / Pike County Ky.
  1. It is only 30 miles from your location
  2. The RR db has a frequency for AMR in Pike County Ky Pike County, Kentucky (KY) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
461.850BMCC 9
TG *
SL *
Life Guard AmbulAmerican Medical Response, Inc.DMREMS Dispatch

This frequency (461.850) has several similarities to 461.25. These 2 frequencies are related.
  • Both frequencies are listed on the license WRCC954 for AMR
    • The two frequencies are at different locations in the county
  • CC 9 shown in the db for 461.85 matches the color code shown by the sds100

It is VERY, VERY, VERY unlikely that you are receiving anything from Indiana from your location. The "Hackeys Creek EMS" text shown on the display was most likely programmed into the scanner by you. I don't know where that information came from, but it is not indicative of where the signal is being broadcast from.

Can I say with 100% certainty that this frequency is AMR in Pike County? No. That is something that you will have to confirm through listening to the transmissions

Yes i think you are right the traffic i hear on it is a ems traffic it's usually about someone who is sick and needing a ambulance so it's prob the one u said. what confused me was is says cap+ and from my limited knowledge i always heard that was trunked dmr i guess it's not tho.

462.25 is trunked. It is IDAS (Icom) trunked. If you recall, there are a lot of UHF IDAS frequencies active that you hear from location, most of them being Two-Way. There are multiple frequencies associated with that particular Two-Way site.

Plug in 461.8375 from the license given to you in post #4, see if you observe the same talkgroups as you do on 462.250. Your screenshot shows 462.250 to be Ch 2 on the IDAS system. We can assume 461.8375 to be Ch 1 if this is indeed the correct license/site

Ok so it is trunked. hmmm i have identified a few other IDAS freqs near the 462.2500 i'll add a screenshot showing them. i would like to figure out what i would need to do to put everything in the sds100. I hear traffic on each of the freqs in the screenshot.

the second and third screenshot is of 451.4250

Thanks for confirming to me that it was a trunked system it made me go at figuring it out the right way i have already identified 7 LCN numbers for 7 freqs and working on finding more. it's good to get this figured out because it has been a issue for awhile, here are the freqs and LCN"s i have found maybe someone can help me figure out the rest and submitt the info it it's not already in the database.

462.2500 LCN 2
451.4250 LCN 3
461.8375 LCN 1
451.9250 LCN 1
452.2250 LCN 1
461.3875 LCN 1
462.6000 LCN 2

I'm still trying to figure out the LCN for 2 more freqs the ones i have not figured out are

452.0000
451.6750

I don't know how to put everything together and submit it right here are screenshots of all those channels with the LCN in dsdplus

Per your screenshots it appears you're within range of 4 different sites (1, 2, 6 & 8)

Problem is that a lot of the freqs are not licensed

I heard a addresss 200 douglas park apartment 612 which is in pike county ky. it is a EMS channel because i only hear alert sounds a few seconds before the traffic starts and it's always someone just saying stuff such as "we have a person needing help they fell off the porch yada yada" and thats all there is . it's just commands from a dispatch but nobody responds to that person.
