What I meant was, if you want to monitor the Glendale Cell, follow that post I linked to....it looked to be a little different than what you posted. Sorry I wasn't clear.

And set up a different system for Burbank.

Yes, I know that, that is what I stated in my first post.

My question was whether I need to input any other cells to
monitor from the area of Bob Hope Airport?

But where i am i can only get bad range from the burbank icis. why wont they make the airport people talk through the glendale icis???? it would give them better range wouldnt it?

Since Airport CFR and PD only service the airport property, there is no reason for them to roam out of the Burbank Cell. There are many talk groups that are not set up for roaming. This is a to help reduced resources on other site in the system.

So if a 737 took off, lost their control and crashed in Glendale they wouldnt respond? There is going to need someone to put foam on the firey wreckage.

LAFD responded upwind when that business jet crashed out of VNY...but perhaps BUR's private department isnt allowed that authority.

But if there was a crashed airplane in glendale wouldnt they switch to a verdugo fire channel then which is able to be used on the glendale icis?

As with the recent alert 3 in Burbank, all units (Airport and BFD, LAFD) operated on Verdugo Red talkgroups. Also if there was to be on incident at the airport that involved outside agencies, everyone would be on Verdugo.

ANY emergency traffic at Bob Hope Airport is on the Verdugo channels from what I monitor. They ALWAYS respond station 13 or another close unit in support, even for a medical aid. I only hear "chatter" on the BHAirport Fire Talk Group.

Not sure if it's been talked about in the past 21 pages of this thread.
I notice Site 1 & 7 was missing it's connect tone in the Additional Site Information page.

482.2875 891D SITE 01 Connect Tone: 90.00 - (ICIS) Glendale
482.5625 891D SITE 07 Connect Tone: 105.88 - (ICIS) Culver City

Just notice it when I was searching the band this past week.

ICIS Mutual Aid TGs

Somewhere along the way, I obtained the following info. for the ICIS mutual aid TGs.
If correct, are they frequently used or seldom or never ?
I am not a regular monitor of ICIS except for Culver City so I can't verify their use.
Just wondering and curious.

65392 ICIS M/A-1
65408 ICIS M/A-2
65424 ICIS M/A-3
65440 ICIS M/A-4
65456 ICIS M/A-5
65472 ICIS M/A-6
65488 ICIS M/A-7
65520 ICIS M/A-8

I havent heard any meaningful activity in at least 18 months on a Mutual Aid talkgroup, although you might hear something Thursday or Friday during the earthquake excercises. You would think Burbank and Glendale would use them more, but they just switch over to each others talkgroups instead.

What does a connect tone do in an icis system? Is it like pl tone in a normal radio system?

Yes, Motorola trunking systems (at least 3600 type) use a connect tone similar to a conventional PL tone to keep the repeater open which the radio was granted. If the Connect Tone is lost, the system will mute and hold the channel for a few seconds and then return it to the pool.

ICIS-San Fernando PD

I see there are a few talkgroups for San Fernando PD on the ICIS system, but does anyone know which is their primary site? Is it Oat?

Thanks,

Todd

Every time I hear San FernandoPD on ICIS, they are talking on the Glendale site...and they are down at Mens Central Jail or LA County Medical Ctr.

*All* the Glendale sites are loud and clear because it is a multi site simulcast. For the most part, each cell has multiple transmitter locations for good fill in. The exceptions are the standalone sites such as Hauser Peak and Oat Mt.

482.20

Does anyone know if 482.20 is part of the Beverly Hills TRS Site 006? Due to my long distance from L.A. County I get a weak P25 signal on my BC780 & PRO2067. It's too weak for my BC785D to hear what they are saying.
