I caught a little on 37040 with someone giving a location being near Valley Blvd and San Gabriel Blvd. That seems to me to be about Rosemead, and not Montebello.

Anyhow 37040 worth adding to the list of Wildcards needing monitoring.

I was browsing the recent FCC license applications and found this.

FCC ULS Application 0004691184

It appears to be for Pasadena's new ICIS cell. Interestingly, the applicant is Los Angeles County, but the statement of eligibility clearly states the frequencies will be for Pasadena's use.

Well, LA County received the frequencies from the old UHF channel. I remember hearing/reading that Pasadena was allowed to use them in return for LASD being able to use the system during big events in Pasadena (Rose Parade, Rose Bowl Game, BCS Game, etc)

Also, LASD 1277 N EASTERN AVE, LOS ANGELES, LOS ANGELES, CA is listed as a control point (the EOC?)

L.A. County was granted the Channel 15 frequencies by the FCC, so L.A. County filing the application makes sense.
1277 N. Eastern Ave. is the Comm Center. The EOC is 1275 N. Eastern Ave.

I was reading the latest Verdugo Fire minutes and saw this bit about the ICIS Pasadena Cell....

Narrowbanding/TICP – (PAS) Steve Page updated the committee on the
process for the work and reimbursement for the grant funds for
Narrowbanding. Each member received a handout and timeline. The 2009
TICP will be used due to a formal 2010 TICP not being published and
there does not appear to be a 2011 TICP in the near future. Some
discussion on future programming for P25 needs and/or if anyone
desires to take advantage of P25 ICIS cell in PAS, there will need to
be flash upgrades to those radios at $300-350 ea. Please contact EA
Wise for any questions

Here is a brochure from Raytheon about their P25 TRS system offerings.

http://www.raytheon.com/capabilitie...ts/content/rtn_ncs_products_p25_overv_pdf.pdf

Also, here are the minutes of a special meeting regarding City of Compton PD joining ICIS
Well there is no Compton PD, and there will be no Compton PD. City council dropped the idea finally.
For info they were also talking to South Bay RCC last year.

And another special meeting regarding the donation of three UHF channels to ICIS by an entity named CommEnt:
Yeah its Comm Enterprises, LLC, which holds quite a few licences.
I believe these were the folks that gave/sold LA Harbor some frequencies for their police a few years back.

Picked up activity on 34352 regarding traffic at the Rose Bowl.
So add this to Pasadena's list of TGs.

I believe 34352 belongs to Pasadena's Department of Transportation (the guys that leave those nice notes on your windshield).
Your going to start seeing more new Pasadena Talk Groups as they get closer to switching over to the new Pasadena cell later this year.
Yes, that thing called encryption is in one departments future!

OK that makes sense. They were talking about need for traffic signs, also adjusting the traffic light timing to allow more vehicles to pass.

Not surprised about encryption. Although, a tow truck operator who happened to be monitoring Pasadena PD on his scanner helped locate a stabbing suspect. I wonder if the chief even cares about that. Oh well, hopefully they don't make it fully encrypted like Santa Monica PD.

Pasadena new police chief is the former Santa Monica chief. However, encryption was being talked about well before he came over. Officers currently using some of the new ICIS talk groups, like encryption for sensitive operations.

I'd be happy to create an LA-Impact group in the ICIS DB if anyone can feed me their list of TGs.

Considering they had 20 odd UHF channels, I suspect they will likewise will have plenty of TGs to play with.

Does anyone know the exact use of Verdugo Red 2 through 10 (e.g. Burbank Tactical, Pasadena Tactical)

and can any of you confirm Red 9 and 10 are in fact part of ICIS? I have an official LA County document from July 2009 showing Red 9 through Red 14 plus Red 16 are conventional tactical channels and currently programmed in LA County Fire radios.

Red 2-8 are ICIS tactical's, used for responses that are assigned more than the usual assignment (1 Engine & RA) so they can communicate without interfering with daily operations.

Red 9 & 10 are not part of ICIS.

Red 9 & 10 are both conventional simplex channels. Red 11 is a local repeater, as well as Red 12. Red 13 is FDUMA. 14 is Red 16 access reversed for emergency triggers activated outside of ICIS coverage, and Red 15 is ICIS emergency. Red 16 is "XLC AXS" for LA County Fire or other departments responding into Area C with Verdugo units to be patched to the ICIS TG in use.
