Heard some patch testing from PAS COMM to another TG/channel today. Didn't have my computer up running to see what it was patched to however.

Question about ICIS & Trunk 88... How does it convert its TG numbers on Trunk88 to database info here?

EDIT: Found out how to change it to the 4 digit format.

42926 would have to be talkgroup 42912 with an additional set of status bits indicating a patch or something. does anyone know what 42912 is?? i havent seen any numbers anyware near that range.

follow up is that is is not assigned for 14 status bits. maybe something new in the new radio system that they are installed in pasadena?

Was reading the last ICIS board meeting minutes and states that Azusa, Glendora, Claremont, La Verne and Irwindale could be joining with a potential site at Irwindale Speedway to cover the five cities in addition to a site in works in Claremont already to cover the Eastern edge of ICIS. Both Claremont and Laverne have channels for the system.

Also it was noted by the Montebello representative that LA IMPACT was getting minimal use out of ICIS and would discontinue use.

That would be a good idea for the Foothill Cities to link up with each other, considering they rely on each other for mutual aid.

According to the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority in July they entered into an agreement with Verdugo Fire Communications to join as a contract member agency. I guess this means the airport will no longer dispatch its own Fire/EMS calls.

Anyone have an idea if the airport will be dispatched on regular Verdugo Red-1 and Verdugo Tac’s, or will they utilize existing airport ICIS Talk Groups?

Their dispatches now don't sound that professional....sounds like a guy with a handheld dispatching from an empty office.....or the Airport police sometimes dispatch... So they send their squad and Crash trucks and may give a code 4 by the time Verdugo is dispatching an Alert to the BFD units. It would clear up a lot of comms and confusion by just going with VFCC.... And I wonder if BFD can't send their 3 man rigs to the airport, if it can only be 4? So then you would want the autoaid with Glendale

Just adding up the cities using ICIS in some way now, there could be a big chuck of LA County opting out of LA-RICS when it is finalized. Just saying.

Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Arcadia, Alhambra, Montebello, South Pasadena, Monrovia, Monterey Park (for now), San Gabriel, San Marino, Sierra Madre, Beverly Hills, Culver City, Azusa, Glendora, Claremont, La Verne, Pomona, Irwindale

I know they are looking at it, but Azusa, Glendora, Claremont, La Verne, and Irwindale aren't yet a part of ICIS.

The Verdugo dispatching for Burbank Airport Fire/EMS is planned to commence on 9/1.

Pretty big drill going on in San Gabriel using Verdugo Fire Admin Talkgroup 33952. Simulated railroad derailment with exploded tank cars. Verdugo Fire, Police, City Ops, Logistics, Schools, Medical Center.... All the radios (about 20?) being used are in the 474xx number range.

County frequencies for Pasadena's use

I was browsing the recent FCC license applications and found this.

FCC ULS Application 0004691184

It appears to be for Pasadena's new ICIS cell. Interestingly, the applicant is Los Angeles County, but the statement of eligibility clearly states the frequencies will be for Pasadena's use.
After several amendments, that application for 15 trunked frequency pairs was granted last Thursday to L.A. County as WQOF435 for "COMMUNICATIONS ESSENTIAL TO OFFICIAL ACTIVITIES OF THE CITY OF PASADENA."

The Whittier site shown on this contour map submitted to the FCC isn't included as part of the license as issued.

The only reason Verdugo Peak and Whittier are shown on this map is to demonstrate that the license application would not exceed the coverage approved by the County's original Channel 15 waiver. Showing the FCC that the existing licenses that were at Verdugo Peak and Whittier exceeded the service contour of the proposed three sites in the new system was required to avoid having to re-submit a waiver request.

Also, this map only shows acceptable service for a mobile radio. We have built the system to provide service within the City limits to portable users, both talk-in and talk-out. We will be able to use the system outside of our primary service area to a certain extent, but our goal from day one was to ensure in-building coverage within the City.
