Converting 39600 and 39456 from Dec to Hex, 39600 should be 9ab or Pasadena PD 11 and 39456 is 9a2 or Pasadena Tac2, which sounds right as both are encrypted.

LAflyer - Thanks for clarifying, I forgot about the trunkgroup ID conversion when going from smartzone to the P25 site. Also, do you know if there is a technical reason the trailing 0 in hex is dropped when converting to decimal ID? (Unlike on the smartzone sites you add a trailing 0 to the hex value when converting to decimal). Is that just how scanners do it or is it because of the trunking system?

Anyway, I think I actually picked up a new talkgroup (for real this time) this morning on the Glendale site: 39712 (0x9b20). It's P25, non-encrypted. Sounds like some type of training . I heard them speaking about group 1,2,3 etc using stokes baskets. I think they are having lunch right now, but I'll keep listening and try to identify the user.

Thanks
Keith

I've heard 39712 before - it sounds like a fire academy, but I've never been able to confirm its user.

PRS-400 +PSR Edit for Pasadena ICIS

I have been studying this thread and am still lost. I've been scanning since crystals and am thoroughly confused by the trunking thing. I know how it works but am having a hell of a time programming my PSR-400 and PRO-2055 with PSR Edit for what little there is to hear on the Pasadena ICIS.

Could anyone suggest or walk me through the procedure?

Thanks a bunch.

the pasadena system has a lot to listen to but it is all digital and i dont think that the psr400 or pro2055 will do digital at all.

Tonight Pasadena PD was using both old Ch3 and 4 for some event possibly at the Rosebowl.
Had CP going along with traffic control units.

Cross checked with the ICIS TGs, and they were not patched, so certainly seems the old frequencies are not dead.

Looks like the Beverly Hills site got updated this weekend.

Appears to be P25 with new Site ID of 016 and NAC370.

Like Pasadena's new P25 system the WACN ID is BEE00.

Also it seems like TGs have changed. The few I noted this morning were 22xx and not the 36xxx series Beverly Hills had prior.

Remember that talkgroup numbers on any P25 site will appear 16 times smaller, but the system sees it as the same talkgroup. For example, 36320 / 16 = 2270. Beverly Hills PD channels 1-3 should be talkgroups 2270, 2271, and 2272 on any P25 site.

We've updated the Beverly Hills TGs in the regular ICIS system to show all as being 'Depreciated'.
Eventually will delete them completely.

Confirmed Beverly Hills TGs on the P25 system entered in the Db as well. So far a department name has changed on one, along with a new All Call TG noted as well.
More to come...

I'll bring this over from the Rose Parade/Bowl thread.

Noted following Pasadena site TGs that are not in the Db. If anyone can help ID, that would be appreciated.

2483 - Comments about Rose Bowl gate and parking. Comment also about "hazmat group"
2494 - various fixed post along on parade route (could be related to TG#2542)
2542 - I venture to guess it could be either PD or FD explorers, or maybe community CERT volunteers. Base callsign is "SCD" with individual IDs mostly "Robert" and "Sam". Various medical aid calls along parade route were passed along on this TG as well.

Saw a note in the ICIS board minutes that Culver City and Pomona would be next to upgrade to P25.

Also they were moving along with the agreements for development of a site in Glendora.

http://icisradio.org/pdf/agendasminutes/2012/ICIS_Minutes_120612.pdf

Mr. Wright and Board Member Simay approached Mr. Mallon, LARICS Executive
Director regarding why there has been resistance to looking at ICIS as a sub-system of
LARICS. Mr. Page responded that the challenge is that LARICS is amorphous and ICIS
is not. Mr. Page suggested that we push this to May or June when LARICS has a vendor
and more would be presumably known about the LARICS system. Mr. Page will
coordinate with Chief Scranton to determine the correct form and language of a motion to
be presented at the RICS Technical Committee.

one of the interesting tidbits from the last posted ICIS meeting...(Dec)

I heard the tail end of a conversation today that a site controller was setting off alarms.....perhaps you noticed similar activity today?
