That’s what I figured. Just curious. When Red-1 dispatches a call is it broadcast to all the ICI radios or just the city they dispatch to?

Each apparatus has its own station alerting to alert them to the call, but the radio traffic is broadcast on Red-1 to all units

If battalion chiefs are on page (VMUT) their radio will be silent until they are paged (long tone). Other then that, Red 1 is for all of verdugo.

P25 Paging is what un-mutes the individual radio. The long (two) tone is strictly a noise maker to know its a full assignment. Theres also a “long” (single) tone.

Any tips on getting reliable reception of the ICI system on the HomePatrol-2? After attempting to receive it using the full database unsuccessfully, I also tried programming just the Verdugo Fire talk groups and Glendale site (which has a good signal at my location) in a favorites list. That didn't work any better When transmissions are received (sporadically) the digital audio quality is very poor....

@hotdjdave where you ever able to resolve the problem you reported previously with the various Uniden scanners?

The HP-2 generally doesn't perform well on simulcast systems. A few people are lucky in that their monitoring position is much closer to one tower site than the rest of the towers in the simulcast cell, which helps to cancel out interfering signaling. Some people claim that using no antenna or a paper clip as an antenna can help, but in reality, they need to purchase a radio that was specifically designed to receive simulcast.

You need a Unication G-5 UHF-2/700/800 mhz radio and you will not be dis-appointed. Handles Simulcasting great

Most ICI sites are simulcast.
Only single sites are Culver, Oat, and hauser

They have a encrypted channel. Channel 2. They barely use it.

Question. I see that South Pasadena and Baldwin Park PD's are on ICI system but I never hear them on either The Glendale or Montebello sites. Does anybody know about these cities if they are part of ICI and are running on this system. Wonder if they are on different sites within this system. Good day everyone

I believe Baldwin Park is on the Glendora Site however they are encrypted.
