I noticed under Verdugo Fire there's a Red 9 listed (TG 2116). My understanding was that Red 1-8 and 15 were trunked talkgroups, and Red 9-14 and 16 were conventional channels. Should this talkgroup be deleted?

It is an actual talk group, I have heard it used once for training.

Ah that's probably why I was hearing training traffic on red 9. It looks like it is also the same as GFD Training. These training TG's are used by the GFD training center I would assume.

The Red "training" talkgroups belong to Glendale Fire.

These Red talkgroups belong to Verdugo.

You are correct, 9-14 and 16 are Conventional non trunked channels

There is no Red-9 Trunking talkgroup it needs to be removed from the database as Red-9

2116 is considered Verdugo Red-9 per fleet map that was previously shared

The info mlangeveld shared is right. 2116 is GFD Training Emergency as of last year.

I am no longer hearing anything on ICI (ICIS). I am scanning from the main database on my HP2 and from my favorites list on my BCD436HP, both updated in the last week (August 2021). Its seems like I haven't heard anything in a while. I am not sure what's up with the system.

UPDATE: For a few seconds, I heard something from Glendale PD. A few seconds of traffic after monitoring today for several hours.

Both those scanners don't do well with P25 simulcast. A clue is another poster stating he has no issues when using OP25.

I just got a Uniden SDS100, and still hear nothing on ICIS. I listened for about an hour. I am monitoring from the Mission Hills area (near the 405 and the 118 fwys). I thought I would at least hear San Fernando and possibly Burbank and Glendale. I hear LAPD, LASO, LAFD, CHP, and others just fine. I used to hear stuff on ICIS in the distant past.

Also, I hear nothing on LARICS nor LA City Municipal Services TRS (STRS).

All in the last three weeks:

I've logged CC traffic from ICI sites 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 20, and 40 (decimal). At least some (e.g. 11, 13, 19) look fairly active.

LARICS has several active CCs. Most of the traffic I logged seems to be TG 6 and 1006, patched from somewhere else.

I've logged traffic from the two STRS cells, 1 and 8.

I would set up a separate Favorities list in Sentinel and program it with only the ICI system. Then lock out all the system sites except for the one you feel is closest to your position, and monitor for traffic. Set the radio to ID Search mode. Make sure Sentinel is up to date, and make sure the radio has the most recent firmware. Repeat the same procedure for each ICI site that you anticipate would be in range, or take it on the road to each site's anticipated footprint. My guess is your radio / programming is not configured properly. Or maybe there is some local to you interference - another reason to take the radio on the road. Then there are filters that can be set that help some users in specific circumstances, but I've never had to use them beyond the default settings.

If possible (I'm not familiar with the scanner), you might eliminate any potential decoding issues by finding out which CCs you can hear, just listening to them in analog mode. Then you can work on trying to hear traffic on those sites.
