Anyone out there using an R75 software program? Did a little googling on the subject, but only came up with one hit, the "Ergo" program on Universal Radio's site for $99. Any leads would be appreciated. Also interested in comments, good or bad, by anyone who has such software in use with their R75.

Surely you are joking! This question has come up many times in the last several months, and the answer is the same - there are MANY programs that support the R75. Ham Radio Deluxe, RxPlus, tk75 (if you're into the Linux world, tho it will run on Windoze), SWLog just to name a few.
If you go to either the SWL Broadcast or Utility Listening Wiki, you will find a link there for the Strong Signals software page. It will take you directly to the HF receiver support section, which will show you several links for software. Check the ones I've mentioned out, along with a couple of others I didn't....
In fact, since this question has come up so often, I wonder if a Wiki on the R75 wouldn't be appropriate. Comments?

Just now getting serious about the software aspect, thus had no idea it had been addressed "many times in the last several months." Will pursue the leads in your reply.

Further to my last, I'd like to read critiques by those who've tried the various programs. I'm skeptical of information provided in sales pitches and of claims made by software designers. There may well be user reviews somewhere within the forums and at sites elsewhere on the web. If so, links would be appreciated.

I've got the Icom software for the R75 and in my view it's garbage.
I've also got Ham Radio Deluxe. It definitely is NOT garbage.

Generally you get what you pay for...but not always. -Rod-

Rod is absolutely on target there - and as for reading reviews of software, while I don't know of many that are online, I'll point out the next best thing; several of these packages have dedicated Yahoo groups now (I'm constantly watching to see which of these has a new group so it can be added...). There's no better place to find out about software than from a group who is actually using it. We have such an index on the R75 Wiki.
Ham Radio Deluxe went a different way; they have their own dedicated forums. Both methods are certainly valid ways to do research on a package before downloading or buying.

I have to agree with Mike regarding software for the IC-R75. ( I own 2 of them )
There are alot of programs out there for this rig.
For FREE, SWLog works fine and does just about everything you want to control it with.
I have it, but dont use it much, as the ICOM is a pretty straight foward rig on how to operate.
What are you looking for to enhance the operation of this receiver?
Regards,
Kevin
