Furthermore for me ordering the sds200 from scanner master didn’t happen . Having had issues with them in the past . It’s kept me from not even entering the site . “ in stock “ is a sales click bate no matter how you argue it .

It looks and seems to be a great scanner. No doubt I'll end up buying one as a big brother to my sds100, but gonna wait for now to see what the "early adopters" think of its performance and if there are any early production issues/bugs that need addressing.

I did a pre-order last week from another reputable vendor, and was informed that it would ship "Late January". Is this not accurate now?

Deceptive sales practices by small vendors is what drives me to Amazon and other responsible online retailers.... Seems to me their shopping cart / item listing could be modified to read "Pre-order" rather than "In Stock." I shouldn't have to call to verify stock status - an extra step that diminishes the sales experience, and one of the major reasons for online shopping.

I ordered from another vendor and was contacted over the weekend if it was OK to charge my CC. Seems that people who prepaid using PayPal were complaining that their funds were immediately withdrawn from their linked account, and felt that gave them some sort of priority. Choice of payment methods is... a choice. (I authorized the charge because I didn't want to (effectively) get thrown to the end of the queue by cancelling the order. To be fair, the vendor did say that CCs would be charged about a week before shipment, so I was expecting to pay prior to shipment - but the Paypal issue forcing early payment was not something I was expecting.)

You do realize that Amazon is increasingly becoming an order processing house for people running on-line businesses out of their garage, don't you? It doesn't take much to buy a crate of cell phone chargers from a Chinese vendor and then sell them one-by-one on Amazon. Yes, Amazon takes the order and handles the money, but the guy in the garage is the one who actually ships the order.

When I see Scanner Master clearly state multiple times on their web site that they are taking pre-orders, quantities will be limited, and they don't expect to get their small, initial order until mid-February with a larger shipment to follow 30 days later, I take them at their word. They ain't got none. Period.

When I see "In Stock" in their on-line listing, that tells me that their on-line ordering system has to have the "In Stock" switch turned on so they can take your order. I see no confusion or conflict here. If you are foolish enough to give Scanner Master, or any on-line dealer, your money just to get in line for merchandise they don't yet have, that's your decision. Having been an Amazon Prime customer since the beginning, I am well aware that Amazon has 3rd party vendors. I am also aware of who I am ordering from because it is clearly disclosed on the item page. I have never had a problem with Amazon or their 3rd party vendors, and returns to them were processed promptly. So what's your point? Mine is about disclosure.

Some additional questions (forgive me if they've already addressed, but I've not seen answers to these among the verbiage here):
1) Is there a true discriminator tap available on the SDS series? Is there a tap point identified on the main board like the previous series of Uniden scanners so you can roll your own? Or some other method to get a true IQ tap from the SDR?
2) If so, what software would be recommended for decoding (and source)?
3) Is there adequate memory in the SDS series PROM for additional code to support other CODECs, such as Tetra or MTP1327 down the road?
4) Is there anything that can be stated regarding the "demo" of the spectrum and waterfall displays as a future feature of the SDS series? That would be awesome. Great tease, regardless. If not functional now, how can that display be obtained now on the SDS series on on a connected PC as a) a demo, and b) totally functional?
