Introducing the SDS200

Never had an issue. Just received a refund back this morning, actually, for an item that was damaged in shipping and I returned. Simple. Secure. No issues here and certainly no nightmare in my experiences.

In my case it may have just been an incompetent merchant. But in any case I prefer not to introduce a third party into the mix.

Just chatted with Bearcat Warehouse and they said SDS200's will ship on Monday. I preordered several weeks ago, so I am assuming that is when mine will ship. I'll post if I hear anything different.

Just remember the merchants are only getting so many in so even if you preordered there is no guarantee you will get one on the first round. I can see the complaints rolling in unfortunately.

Many people like it because there is no need to give your CC info to a retailer if they accept PayPal - you use the PP site to securely sign in and send the payment and the retailer never sees your CC info. More secure.

Hasn't PayPal been hacked a bunch of times? Also if you use a card that offers virtual credit card numbers, then it's more secure so that your real info isn't used when making online purchases.

PayPal is about as safe as they come these days.

I agree, never had an issue with PayPal in all my years and they have always been quick to settle disputes.

I received an email from Jeff at The Ham Station asking me if it was okay to process my credit card. When I ordered, there was a message that said that they would process the card up to a week before they sent the scanner out. The email asking permission came on the weekend of the 19th, so I expect that the scanner will ship sometime this week.

At least I hope so.

Your first sign that you're close to getting it is when your credit card gets charged. You'll see the pending charge before you get a tracking number most likely, plus you'll know for sure that you made it into the first batch.

I got that email also. My understanding was that some people who paid via Paypal were complaining and thought that their orders should ship before customers who paid via credit cards, because Paypal transferred their money immediately and credit card users had not been charged yet.

I didn't agree with their logic, but I agreed to let The Ham Station charge my credit card at that time, based on my previous experience and their reputation.

To be part of the early birds you have to "pony up the cash" I guess. I will just be grateful once I get it in my hands so I can see that awesome new screen that I will finally be able to see. That 536HP was horrible. Glad my trash is somebody elses treasure now.

I tried a 436 and 536, returned the 436 and ended up selling the 536 because the display was way to hard to read for me. So I’ve had an HP2 since, and sold that on eBay soon as I preordered the sds200

Just about everyone in my area is closed today. Even USPS suspended delivery today. But UPS managed to return my BCD436HP to my front door today after a quick trip to Texas for repair.

Perhaps instead of everyone guessing on the date and adding even more posts to this thread we should wait until you know they are on the way or are there? It's hard to follow this thread when I check back and there are 86+ posts and most of them are payments (not related to Uniden) and possible (unverified) shipping dates. Maybe a new thread for tracking the shipment of the SDS200?
