Did Uniden send out Demo models to anyone (i.e. for actual testing)? I'd be really curious how the receive sensitivity and intermod rejection on airband compares to the BCT-15X.
Check out The Scanner Guys on You Tube they were Beta testers, Johnathan does a great job describing the 2 new models! Show was on summer 2023.

I’d be interested in the handheld version, the local public service P25 is encrypted. Since I sold off my SDS scanners I use an old BC80XLT.

No news about the release of the BCD160/260 DN. I guess they won’t shine under your 🎄🎄 (or hanging in stockings at the fire place) 🥴

Uniden's mouthpiece already stated that they will not release in time for Christmas.

And we should not forget that while P25 trunking is all the rage in the US, it is not necessarily the same elsewhere in the world, or even nearer..

For example, in Canada, notably in Ontario and Quebec provinces, provincial governments are moving EMT/ambulances, police, road control, road maintenance, etc., to P25 trunked+full time encrypted networks.

So… considering that the only emergency services not onboarded on those provincial networks are fire services, which are on a mix of analog, digital Nexedge/NXDN, DMR tier-2 or some on DMR tier-3, sometimes encrypted and most not, the new Uniden models should sell rather well up here north !

I have the feeling that these so called new scanners that Uniden announced are all "pie in the sky" as still after several months of announcing these radios there is still no release date given. I am rather skeptical that they will ever be even made.

This really sounds like a comment from somebody who took the time to read the other 32 pages of comments and explanations.
Models of the 160DN/260DN were sent to testers and designers for programming software. Both models are, according to @JoeBearcat, in production and (from the beginning) scheduled for release in 1st quarter 2024. What is the difficult part to understand….

I am sure you are right.....I mean Uniden went through all the trouble of producing models for beta testing and getting all of the FCC approvals in place just to screw with everyone and not release anything.<sarcasm>

I would suggest perhaps reading over the entire thread before embarrassing yourself any further.
