They wouldn't use those frequencies from the lake county system. Because the fcc has already assigned them to a different call sign. But what I can see happening is site 108 adding more frequencies to the site. Why because with all the new talk groups added to the area inside 108 seven frequencies might not be enough. Ex if isp, pace, foxcomm, lake Zurich, Wauconda, dnr, and idot are keying up. Then what about HP-1, cencom, and gurnee trying to key up?

Yes, they likely will reuse the current EDACS system freqs, probably adding them to the existing 108 eventually.

What about a fall back system? Most agencies that join have their old system as back up. Is the fcc mandates eleminating this system entirely? 6.25 kHz

NWCD did not keep a back up.. in a matter of months all their old system equipment was sold off at auction.

I doubt there's anything more complicated going on here besides a site number change from 8 to 15. I don't see this as another site being added.

Checked the neighbors, there's no more site 8 referenced. Verified this through multiple methods.

Also, site 15 is carrying Lake county traffic.

NAC is 0x14F.

"Sixtytwo", someone installed T115-Lake Co on the radioreference Starcom database list, but the "CC" and alternates do not match up with your list ????

Hopefully someone will post their PRO86Comm or Unitrunke site info on the Lake County site (currently 115, formerly 108) so we can compare with the old data and get the DP updated.

We should probably do this again after the EDACS system is shut off to see if the current EDACS channels get assimilated into the new 115 or if a new site pops up.

There are additional talk paths being advertised but not in use - but what I posted before is still what the site is advertising overall. If someone is using a different CC decoder program, that could explain the discrepancies.

Or, someone has mis-configured the site - like when they were showing 700 MHz talk paths previously.

Clearly things are in flux here.

NAC, neighbors do remain the same.

Timing Update

Hi all... got this update last night from a friend at the LCSO:

"Its inevitable, but the project is stalled until Motorola can get their act together and get the last of the towers on line. We rejected their idea of splitting services between DOT / Health Dept / Admin and LCSO / Forest Preserve - it has to be all or nothing. Looks like at least 30 more days."

Secured

Tower 115 secured ids:

Lake Zurich both law dispatch 1 and 2 secured
Waukegan law dispatch secured
Vernon Hills law dispatch both dispatch 1 and 2 secured

And Rich yes I am monitoring ISP both districts 2 and 15, or at times the scanner is off due to secured mode and just accepting it not ranting and raving gonna vote this current sheriff out maybe secured communication will be cleared, I don't know.

As far as simulcast issue, I guess I'm the lucky that is not centrally located within these tower sites, although I did position myself centrally with NWCD towers and did note the simulcast issue everyone is complaining about. Due to home owner association I have a 800 mhz and regular scanner antennas in the attic with very good results.

Say what?

Are you saying ISP is encrypted now? That's the first I heard of that. Voting against the sheriff isn't going to affect ISP in any way.

I was listening to ISP Dist. 2 and 15 today... No issues here. I doubt they will be moving to encrypted. Ill ask my sister in law-ISP Dispatcher. Stand by...... I did notice they switch to alt. channels here in dupage area.

The change in the DuPage control channel is mentioned in another thread: http://forums.radioreference.com/il...21-thread-sites-talkgroups-3.html#post2593090

On P25 systems like SC21 the main control channel stays until it is manually changed by an administrator or if one of the site's transmitters fails. On simulcast sites like those in the Chicagoland area if one site's radio fails then all of that site's towers change to the same alternate control channel.

My bad

My bad just to clear my earlier forum reply, what I meant with everything going secured my monitoring includes NWCD fire, Lakemoore PD, McHenry city dispatch and ISP dist. 2 and 15. Hopefully Lake county sheriff ISPERN will be in the clear.
