17510 - Some Commercial EMS - Maybe Licking or Franklin county. Most units have 25xx id's but have seen others.

I've had 100's of hits in the last 24 hours and will not be listening to them :)

All of Z-ville South site

IP Site: New Paris (Preble Co)

For those of you in/around Preble Co who know how to use a trunking program or otherwise have the ability to get information on live IP sites and relevant information:

Please be on the lookout for a live IP site in New Paris (Preble Co). This site should probably be online by now. If it is live, it may or may not be using one of the frequencies listed below.

You might want to check out neighboring sites like Eaton, West Alexandria, or the Butler Co simulcast and see what neighbors are being broadcast. If New Paris is online it would probably show up as a neighbor on one of the other sites.

As with any site that comes online we need to know the primary CC, alternate CC, any voice frequencies in use, as well as the RFSS-Site ID (which would likely be a 1-### RFSS-Site ID not already listed in the MARCS-IP database. A listing of neighbors would be good as well.

Thanks

Mike

A construction notification was submitted to the FCC by MARCS indicating buildout of another site [that seems to not be in the DB yet].

7960 U.S. ROUTE 40
NEW PARIS, OHIO

WQWC944 ( ULS Application - Trunked Public Safety 700 MHz - 0006855164 - OHIO, STATE OF - Locations Summary )

770.85625
771.28125
771.68125

Maybe I'm wrong and its in the DB. But a quick search didn't show it as a listed active site. For any of you in/around Preble Co, be on the lookout for this site. And if you discover it online, please submit the relevant details (RFSS-Zone, CC, AC, VCs, site neighbors) so that we can add it to the DB.

Thanks

Mike

Upcoming IP sites (not confirmed online yet)

We still have a few MARCS-IP sites that have never been confirmed online yet, as well as some new ones we know will be coming online at some point.

If you are anywhere near these areas, please attempt to see if these sites are online and submit the relevant information if they are.

Relevant information would be RFSS-Site ID, primary CC, alt CC, any known active voice frequencies, as well as full neighbor list information.

2-052 and 2-053 ought to be online.

Code:
1-xxx	New Paris (Preble) WQWC944 770.85625 771.28125 771.68125
2-052	Norwalk (Huron) WQRR319 770.45625 771.53125 771.80625 772.13125 772.70625 773.33125
2-053	New London (Ashland) WQRR320 769.78125 773.70625 773.98125 774.45625 774.70625
3-xxx	Fairview (Guernsey) WQSB983 770.20625 771.28125 773.03125 773.28125
3-xxx	Greenup KY WQTG522 773.20625 773.63125 774.08125 774.78125
3-xxx	Laurelville (Hocking) see note	852.32500 853.10000 853.825
3-xxx	Londonderry (Ross) WQSB974 769.08125 769.83125 770.25625

* note about Laurelville (This Laurelville is NOT the Tar Hollow site. It's an old MARCS 3.5 data site being upgraded to voice. Do not confuse this with the existing IP site of Tar Hollow)

Thanks!

Hi, I am in Ashland, KY. and I am picking up a site not in the data base.
It shows up as 342 with a control channel of 774.58125. I have received a few tgids like 53342 Scioto ODOT and 54817 which is not in the data base. Radio ids are i9303483 and i9304133. Anyone know where the site is and who is tgid 54817?

I would take a wild guess and say it is the Greenup, KY site? That seems to be the only site that was left for the southern portion of Ohio. Not hearing anything of Londonderry or Laureville yet.

Thank you for that info, and thanks to Justin for reposting it so I could see it.

Like Justin said, it's likely Greenup KY site. I've added it to the DB as Greenup KY. The most we could be is wrong, but I doubt we are. It's the only site left in southern ohio area to light, and greenup is definitely within range of you.

Even though 774.58125 is not listed on the license, it is not uncommon for MARCS to bring sites online with frequencies off of their blanket license.

While you are listening to that site in the future, if you are able, try to make note of any other frequencies in use [such as when voice comms are occurring and the scanner may display another frequency]. Any time you find more frequencies in use on that particular site, it would be helpful to submit them to the DB -- or at least post in this thread your findings.

Thank you,

mike

Are you sure they aren't saying APA (as in Adult Parole Authority) ?

52557 AKRNAPA
52591 CLEVAPA

92553xx, 92554xx and 92555xx seem to be RIDs commonly associated with those talkgroups.

m

PS: I hear a lot of activity on both of those talkgroups, and they are going to houses or peoples' places of business all around NE Ohio.

Incidentally, the 52557, 52583, 52591 and 52597 talkgroups also seem to be related to other 528xx and 529xx talkgroups. I've seen 92xxxxx RIDs communicate across those four and the 528xx/529xx talkgroups.

unknown DRC talkgroups

DRC-related talkgroups that my Unitrunker has seen. I can't confirm what any of these are.

Very possible - Closed Captions just don't work on a scanner :) Along with Appalachian twang.

I'd call it as whatever is used for Main Comms - Columbus as it was several counties reporting to Columbus.

I added everything to the DB (alpha tags debatable in some cases) except for the first entry, as I'm really unsure of where that facility is, or what the actual facility is called. I mean I did not see any reference to "Management Training Center" anywhereon the DRC site and I don't know where that talkgroup is even based out of. I suppose MCI or NCCC. Maybe you can elaborate when you get a chance.

Thanks

Mike

Picking up TGID 12010.
Radio IDs: 15xxxxx.
Radio ID logic says it's Columbiana County(15).
Unofficial sounding and undercover chatter.

You have the right idea with the first two digits, 15 being Columbiana County. The next two numbers, 90 in this case, does not mean they belong to the highway patrol. They do however belong to MARCS as the last 10,000 of each county range are for MARCS use i.e. 1590000 - 1599999 are for MARCS use in Columbiana County.

The highway patrol will have ID's 9000000 - 9099999.

Ohhh I see, so it was just Columbiana County (15) then radio ID 90102?

Can I get in trouble for saying any of this?

I'm not a lawyer [but there seem to be a few thousand on here]. You really should keep what you hear to yourself, other than generic information to identify talkgroup usage.

Taking your advice, wonder if a mod can wipe my edit history for my previous post?

Just go back to your previous post, click on the Edit button, and remove / modify the post to suit your taste. You should be able to do that for a limited amount of time. Posts aren't perpetually editable.

There's still a way to see the history.
I reported my post asking for the history to be wiped or just delete the post, hope a mod can help me out.

Mike is right.

I often hear (and have knowledge of) covert talkgroups that are probably better off not talked about or submitted for publishing in the database.

But your heart is in the right place so just live and learn.

I'll listen more and ask more questions. From what I gathered so far, a fairly new once juvenile facility that has been closed then when NCCC went private this facility was part of the deal and is now used for management training and houses level 2 inmates.
