When you mentioned "Chagrin Falls Dispatch Center", I believe you were referring to"Chagrin Valley Dispatch Center", possibly? Also, both Strongsville PD and Middleburg Heights PD dispatch are full-time encrypted.
Ah, my mistake. Sorry for the late response, but my new question basically boils down to: will the move of Berea/Brook Park to a new dispatch center lead to encryption? Or will they be hosted on the same Chagrin Valley feed that is currently operating on broadcastify? Olmsted Falls/Twp PD used to be broadcast unencrypted on Southwest Dispatch until their merger with North Olmsted last year so I am just hoping it remains public. Again, I have limited knowledge, so I would appreciate any facts or speculation here lol

Anyone actively listen to the Columbus Fire Training TG57031? Just happened to stop on my scanner this morning and CPD was running a pursuit from a robbery. Sounded like it was a training thing. Just interesting that TG might be used by both fire and police.

I wasn't listening but saw the traffic this morning off the SCI tower in southern Fairfield Co. Caught my attention, as I normally don't see that TG on any of the towers I monitor.

Yes, in-service training includes both fire and police, sometimes other agencies as well.

The county just sent out a flyer to everyone with an update on that. The plan is ten sites total, adding a site next to the fairgrounds in Wellington, one on Middle ridge Rd to the west, and French Creek for the north. These are stated to be 350 ft towers. Also, they have had a TOW trailer setup at the fairgrounds for testing.
The French Creek site appears to be the WSKD556 site that is actually on Abbe Rd just south of SR 611 in an wastewater plant.

And it looks like the FCC just shut down their site, blaming the budget debacle, even though the system is automated and can still run without manpower...typical incorrect reaction.

It literally happened while I was searching those links. Stupid. Just an excuse to make it harder on us."

It depends on if they stay on the existing talkgroups or if they get moved to new TGs.

Also Olmsted Falls/Twp PDs are not encrypted. They are on their own talkgroup now - still in the clear, it just isn't being streamed by whatever you're listening to on broadcastify.

I heard a rumor that Jefferson County is looking to go off MARCS and on there own similar to Belmont. Anyone in that area heard anything or know if there's any truth to this?

Nope, not a word heard here.

@Bethanylt241

A word has been heard. Hell no. They aren't going anywhere. Remember, JeffCo is a highest tier partner. The Zone 3 zone controller is there. They are definitely NOT leaving MARCS.

There's been a new talkgroup appearing on the Indian Camp Wellston site, 51758. Isn't listed on the RR database.

I'm unable to identify them yet but that range seems to typically be OSP related. However, this talkgroup doesn't seem like OSP. A lot of the traffic is hard to understand and muffled but I heard "According to the manager, we're good to do that project there at family dollar."

Also heard them talking about acquiring cones to "knock that out". Also speaking about traffic moving.

Edit: "I'll put some cones over by this van stuck in the ditch" "10-Miller" and "Elmer, If you don't think you need to be at the ramp, 20 back down to the Canoe Livery Rd, for these school buses starting to leave so we can get them out, no incidents." have been heard. Canoe Livery Rd is in Hocking County I believe, but there's also a Canoe Livery Rd near Rio Grande/Gallopolis.

Maybe another OTP event tac? But, also doesn't make sense for OTP.

I'll keep listening to see if I can figure it out, assuming they keep talking.

any idea when this site should go online? i heard they needed the power ran to it but that was almost 2 months ago

No sir. You should be the first to know. I mean all you have to do is program it into a scanner and you'll know when it's live. Or, if you have something like DSDPlus check each of the freqs to see if it's live, or check the neighbor listing on likely neighboring sites to see if a new neighbor/peer not in the database is online.

I checked my ingest this morning and saw no neighbors using any of those channels on West Portsmouth or any of the surrounding sites. I’ll throw them in when I get home later and see if anything comes up.

Checked just now, still no activity, so I presume not built yet.
Last post from the county i saw they needed grounding plates since they had some issues when drilling, same post also said they would be installing the equipment the next week, last update i heard was they were waiting on the power company. The grounding issue was over 4 months ago

I monitor MARCS and I'm in southern Lorain County. Using Unitrunker I'm not seeing anything as a peer for the TOW. I see 02-022 with no name or hits. I plugged in all the CC for the two TOW's in RRDB with no signal.
