Does anyone know what frequencies Mayfair mall and Southridge Mall are on. There are some UHF frequencies listed but do they still work. If the Malls are on trunked systems, what are the frequencies and how do I program a trunked radio system on a 2 way radio?

I think I confirmed the UHF frequencies at Mayfair when I was in town about a year ago, didn't try the last time I was there though. Plug those in and if they're really quiet then turn on the signal stalker/close call. Security was using Motorolas that had UHF sized antennas.

MAYFAIR and SOUTHRIDGE security are both on the Milwaukee County trunked system. MAYFAIR is 37072 and SOUTHRIDGE is 39152. They have been on there for quite a few years now and it allows easy communication with their respective PD's.

To my knowledge, in addition to the uniformed security personnel operating on the MCTRS, Southridge maintains the following UHF repeated frequencies for coordinating operations and with "in-store" security personnel.

Southridge Security F1 464.325 (107.2 PL)
Southridge Maintenance / Security F2 464.775 ( 94.8 PL)

With the holiday shopping frenzy quickly approaching, I'm sure we'll be able to confirm these and others!!

I would imagine that maintenance may use the old UHF freqs to some degree as well. Don't rule out MURS/color dots to be in use about the mall as well. However, those would be low power so it's a good idea to set a bank aside on your scanner for those and once you get near a shopping mall or in the area of many stores and restaurants, those will start to jump.

I was Just at Southridge and the Maintenance frequency is still used alot (half of the time it is spanish so I don't know what they are saying!!!) The security frequency is used for communication between guards, but wouldn't they have to carry 2 radios one for 464.325 UHF & one for the TRS system? The guards only carry one & the radios I think are HT1000's?

Well, the guards only need radios for the MCTRS and if they come across a maintenance issue, all they have to do is radio the command center and then command woould relay this via the Maintenance radios.

Still, I thought the radios the guards have were for 464.325 & the command center would contact the police on the MCTRS system. If that isn't the case, what explains the code names (Greendale 451, Greendale 745 etc..) and calls about shoplifting & code Adam's and other security related things.

I would imagine that those codes would be used regardless of what type of radio system they are using. Such codes are probably for Greendale PD since Wauwatosa is refered to 300 by MAYFAIR security. These malls pay the county to use the system and it provides a quick link to their respective PD's.
As a side note, I personally like the setup as long as the county doesn't mind having alot of mall traffic using the system. I have heard MAYFAIR command ask their officers to try to keep traffic to a minimum when there have been large fires weather issues that may work the system to the point of overload if mall people are just reporting that they want to go bathroom or eat.
Otherwise such an arrrangement is vital to keep mall patrons and merchants in a safe and pleasant setting without putting up with turdbaskets.

Mayfair & Tosa PD also use Tosa PD A2 17200 to talk direct.

From Milwaukee County TRS administrator back in 2008
"First let it be known that both Mayfair and Southridge mall were given access to the system via sponsorship from the local PD. Wauwatosa PD has a substation at Mayfair and it made sense to have them join the system to assist law enforcement. Likewise with Southridge a few years later. We closely monitor system usage"

Sorry to revive this old thread, however, I found out a lot of useful information. At southridge this is how the radio system is set up. The security officers carry Motorola MT-1500 radios on the trunked radio system and they use the system to communicate between guards, mobiles, and dispatch. HOWEVER, the security director, assistant security director, and supervisors carry the analog radios (HT-750's) in addition to the trunked ones so someone can respond to the department stores quicker. The department stores (550, 560, 570, 580, & 590) contact dispatch through 464.325

Mayfair, on the other hand, has a much more different setup. The mall cops including the security director, assistant security director, and supervisors carry the trunked (XTS-2500's) ONLY. The department stores (100 & 101) are on the UHF frequency 463.725 DPL 023. Mayfair command is the only place that has the analog radios.

It should also be known that southridge mall dispatch is referred on the radio as "dispatch" and at Mayfair, their dispatch is referred to on the radio as "command". Southridge Mall's security is 900 units and the department stores are 500 numbers. Mayfair's security is all numbers in the 100 range including the department stores.

ID #'s are as follows as known:

Southridge Mall:
500-Mall Manager????
505-Mall Maintainance Employee
506-Mall Maintainance Employee
550- JC Penney's
560- Macy's
570- Boston Store
580- Sears
590-Kohls
900-Security Director
901-Assistant Security Director
912-Security Supervisor
914-Security Supervisor
922-Dispatcher 1
924-Dispatcher 2/Security Supervisor

Mayfair ID #'s
100-Boston Store
101-Macy's
