The audio of the Fire Brigade sounds great on the new system, thanks for the heads up.

By the way, I thought I caught some traffic that sounds like Fire Marshals on behalf on LIRR on TG 9135, very infrequent user so I can't 100% confirm but they reference Right of Way around Garden City and have callsigns like FM47 FM 44.

Also, I have been hearing Bronxville PD testing on 9550.

I see - nonetheless, I have not heard the suspected LIRR Fire Marshals active for some time now.

Yes on talkgroup 9550.

Will someone be submitting updates for new talkgroups? Also. Am I correct in thinking that certain talkgroups don’t come through the Corning Tower (upstate) site?
Thank youandHappy Holidays to all!

I have a lot of new TGs I logged, but no definitive identity, so I don't submit yet. I have noticed on the Nassau site that a lot of the MTA districts don't affiliate anymore like they used to. Most still affiliate on the NYC zone, which is or was the Metro 25 system. I have 2 radios to monitor both at the same time so I can see which are affiliating. I never tried the corning Tower. I can hear the Westchester site, albeit pretty weak. I'm too far away from the GCT site(60 miles) because I think they are low power.

With trunked systems, talk groups only appear on a site when a system radio is affiliated (registered) with that site on that talk group.
(Or the system is configured to send a talk group 24/7 to a site, but that isn't too common). So if, for example, a MTA Police officer with one of their police dispatch talk groups isn't in the footprint of Corning, you won't hear that talk group on a scanner.

Yes in this case it was definitely the above like you pointed out. They were definitely configured for 100 percent coverage for the last couple years or so. Every District was heard over the system. Lately it is only an affiliation thing going on. Much less traffic on the Nassau site lately. Incidentally, I receive the Nassau site with a wet noodle at my location. The Metro 25 site is consistant receive, about -100db, but the Westchester site is about -110 to115db, readable but not 100% copy.

FYI, I was at NY Penn this evening and the Uniden 436 cannot even lock into the Metro25 system inside NY Penn. But, I did hear brief comms of MTA PD on 160.320 MHz. That frequency is still active. I know there was some previous confusion on that, so just wanted to keep you all updated.

Just heard 4761, kind of sounds like a State Police channel but I’m not sure

sounds appropriate to continue this thread then start a new one.. I was wondering why Bronxville PD alone decided to use this system. from what ive heard there is now virtually no interoperability (unless Bronxville radio users change their channels and leave the MRRSZ3 affiation) with other county agencies such as WCPD and surrounding police depts cannot affiliate to MRRSZ3. does that VHF freq thats listed under the bronxville PD database act as a back up?

There's been a push lately to get other agencies to switch over to the new system. The rumor is that Yorktown may be next

Yorktown is on the Putnam County line, so the Zone 2 cell, not Zone 3.

Eastchester, Tuckahoe, and Yorktown all rumored to be joining Bronxville on the system.

I’m really curious to see the mission plan of an XL200P from MTAPD… i assume it’s each and every agency from the tip of Long Island all the way thru Albany including northern NJ and Connecticut as well

Maybe, maybe not. I can tell you for a fact that they have the Rockland and Orange ASTRO 25 systems in their radios...hundreds of MTA IDs on each system.
