With that said, how is the receive sensitivity of a g5 compared to your scanner? Are they using their stock antenna's or sharing an outdoor antenna?

Picked up TGID 1541, they were talking about an RMA and a dispatcher replied. Think it’s MTA PD

New talk group heard the morning (for me) on this system. Remember, Im upstate. so this is off the Corning Tower site. TG 3001. Troop NYC.

Thusfar, any all transmissions I have received have been "in the clear."

In a trunked system, sites (or simulcast cells) normally only carry traffic if a radio on that talkgroup is affiliated. So if there were no radios on 602 registered on Corning Tower, you wouldn’t hear it.

I will post here as this appears despite its title to encompass METRO 25 The few times lately I have ventured into NYC and run my scanner digital capable which use to receive METRO 25 now nothing. Has anything changed? According to the database there are still digital talkgroups left on this system so I would think I could receive them. Any thoughts?

Yes they are still active as I type this. The control channel does change a couple times a week, fyi. Right now it is 852.0375. Here is a snapshot of my SDS100. You can take the info off of it to verify you have the WACN, SYS ID, ect... correct on your radio. I am about 60 miles from the transmitter

All the MNRR Fire Chiefs have the 700/800 system in their cars, and are now making much more use of it.
