Interesting NOTAM out of ADW, anyone hear of CAPSTONE EVENT?

View attachment 154603
just googling finds

The purpose of the Capstone event is to evaluate Service member's preparedness to successfully transition from a military to a civilian career.
or from USCG site

The Capstone is a mandatory component of Transition GPS where commanders, or commanders' designees, verify that Service members have met Career Readiness Standards (CRS) and have a viable Individual Transition Plan (ITP). The purpose of the Capstone event is to evaluate Service member's preparedness to successfully transition from a military to a civilian career. If a Service member requires or desires follow-on assistance, the Commander will facilitate a "warm handover" to appropriate helping partners such as the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Department of Labor. The Individual Transition Plan Check List (DD Form 2958) is required to be completed and filed in members records.

Or maybe this...

The Goldwater-Nichols DoD Reorganization Act of 1986 subsequently mandated that all newly selected general and flag officers attend CAPSTONE. The course objective is to make these individuals more effective in planning and employing US forces in joint and combined operations.

Does anyone know of a military MOA/range in the area just north of Chase City VA, near the Charlotte State Forest area?.
The 7th FTS T-38s go out there quite often to perform low level activity (like a ground range).
Pretty sure you mean the Farmville MOA. On the ADSBx, if you select the Legend>US > Sectional Charts, you can see it, kinda a tilted "d" shaped area.

Yeah sounds like test school folks checking out the A-400.. Very strong here on 264.550. Two chase planes?
Must be refueler along as well as keep talking about the drogue hose basket.Maybe Marine KC-130J type testing refueling with this bird?
German accent on the GAF plane.. Tanker-21 and Tester-124 are participants.

DRAGO62 inbound, to 279.575. 1514 TOT
USAF Col Alonza Caldwell? Not a pilot so...?

1507- Cleared down to 1000ft, inbound soon

DCA Tower IDs it as a B-52, as I figured. One pilot on the ground waiting just mentioned that he flew B-52s for 22 years.

It kind of sounded like they were going to make a pass somewhere else before they cleared the area.
1520- DRACO62 confirms they have a visual on a building and water tower. They're making a pass over the TRACON site at Vint Hill.

ADS-B Exchange - track aircraft live

could be one aircraft (male and female in the aircraft behind the tanker) following the A400 but definitely German accent from A400 cockpit.

Sounds like the Chinese were in DC this week, anyone catch flights?

"Senior U.S. and Chinese military officials met at the Pentagon this week for discussions focused on U.S.-China defense relations.

The two-day meeting marked the resumption of the U.S.- People's Republic of China Defense Policy Coordination Talks last held in September 2021. This was the first time the dialogue has been held in-person since January 2020.

Also, Friday AF1 will be at Lehigh Valley International Airport, Allentown, PA about 1:15pm.

Just eyeballing a couple Marine type choppers East bound at about 1k feet headed for South Jersey from Delaware... fast movers like AH-1Z types. Maybe headed to McGuire?
Seems HMLA-773 did Arlington Flyover with a AH-1Z Viper and UH-YM Venom chopper in DC area.
P6 got some vid today.. Guess a few of us eyeballed them returning McGuire.Marine choppers sure look different in their light gray colors.

Earlier this evening 1935 local RCH-881 C-17 #00-0181 WV ANG from Andrews into Dover req pax trans and 180k fuel.
Thats about the fuel upload limit on a C-17 :)
2000 local BOBBY-61 KC-46 in from Travis after Alaska Red Flag move req crew trans for 7 and parking.
Radio op sure has UK or Aussie accent.. Exchange crew member or Ex Pat?

Over the years never saw a large fuel truck enter Dover AFB and wondered where they get their fuel from.
Seems they barge it down the Del River from Delaware City refinery or that Paulsboro NJ refinery then offload thru pipelines
to tanks on the base.. Makes sense as fuel trucks for C5's and C-17's would be a constant on the roads :)
