• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I strongly suspect 5245 is Grayling (City) PD/Fire. Heard on the grayling tower, Crawford County RID's. Discussion Station 2 to 2xx. One person referred to is as GPD1. Grayling has a 'public safety' department so the fire fighters are also law enforcement.

11103 "MDOC 66 from 66-51" He called a couple times with no answer. Maybe on the wrong talkgroup?
11856 "Jackson Central testing the fire-rescue pagers"
11963 "Jackson Central testing the All-Call pagers"

4147 is listed as "72P172 Central 9-1-1 Police - Tactical Law Tac " The more and more I listen to it, it really sounds like Roscommon County Jail. At one point, a sheriff deputy called on it and referred to it as Corrections.

They are using 72P172 for jail operations, as well as a "talkaround." You'll hear them call the desk for complaint numbers, as well.

New Genesee County talkgroup may be added soon? Genesee County's outdoor warning sirens just recieved a radio upgrade and I think I read somewhere that they were putting them onto a radio system soon... so if anyone hears lots of data on a Genesee Co talkgroup this may be what's going on.

The outdoor warning is on VHF even the new system. It is not on a "Talkgroup" on the MPSCS system.. it's AFSK based federal signal.

Now seeing a lot of the roscommon jail traffic on 5382. No mention of a channel ID that I have heard yet other than "<Unit> on Jail"
