Ottawa county Police encryption is finally here.

Ottawa County is partially underway with encryption changeover.

70POL1 & 70POL2 will be decommissioned while dispatch traffic seamlessly moves to New encrypted dispatch channels.

Fire departments will also get an encrypted tac channel, but idk what they will use it for.

Expect Ottawa County PD to be fully encrypted in the following week

The current 70POL1 & 2 have a simultaneous patch to their encrypted counterparts that is visible in Unitrunker.

Calhoun County has applied to the FCC, to erect a six-site simulcast cell on the MPSCS. No date on when the system is expected to go live at this time.

FWIW- The Battle Creek tower at 315 E Goodale is standing. I don't think I saw an equipment shelter yet.

The new Mount Pleasant tower is now active.
The site number is 3-055, with a control channel currently running on 853.700.
Also add 770.44375 and 770.94375.

How long has it been online? I was picking up those frequencies a few weekends ago when I was down in Mt. Pleasant but they'd periodically go off the air, then return a bit later.

The Cedar Springs site (314) is not part of the Kent Simulcast. It's a standalone ASR site that occupies the same tower as a Kent simulcast site (347). Other counties added channels to their sites for Consumers but Kent did not. If you can hear site 314 on 853.9375, you'll notice it's only Consumers energy. Everyone else in the county uses the Kent simulcast site, there is no Consumers traffic.

I programmed in the Berrien County simulcast into my G4 to see if anything is going on, nothing so far.

I live in the northern part of the county.

They will be working on the existing towers till the 6th, doing one tower per day from 9am -3pm

In this order:
5404 (Sawyer)
5304 (Sumnerville)
5406 (Grand Beach)
5408 (St. Joseph)
5402 (Coloma)

23258 - Great Lakes 4502 (RID 9115054): "...we're in service returning on a successful drone find, we're back in service 16:03." The beginning of the transmission was broken, so I was unable to hear who they were talking to. This was immediately after communicating the same information to St. Joseph County Central Dispatch on 75COM. Great Lakes Drone was assisting law enforcement locating a subject in Nottawa Township.
