I visited down to Groton CT this past Saturday (hazy and humid) and stopped by Avery Point (UCONN Groton) which has views out to LI. Running DSDPlus with truck roof scanner antenna at perhaps 20' ASL. The 161.161 site was 2 lines on FMP24 and 21.21 was barely visible, with no usable signal.

I got audio yesterday from Zone 3 Simulcast (S Westchester) TG 9076, RID 4204215. That RID looks like an MTA PD D 5/10 unit, according to Unitrunkr. The only audio I heard was, "Anyone reading on Tac 1?". Im thinking it was a radio that just roamed from the Metro Simulcast or the GCT Site

Does anyone have any further info on this?

Last use I see on Zone 1 was June 5th with a variety of D1&2, D5&10 and D3 users. History on some of them indicate they operate on different tg's during the tour and seem to jump around.

What Zone, not seeing anything on Zone 1. I believe the 998xxxx radios are system techs as most of the 998xxxx radios are seen on the tech tg's.

I don't have that rid but do see other 42111XX id's that speak on 9140 MTA BTO Spec Ops. There are some that also tx on 9143.

4210826 - 4211404 are mostly MTA BTO radios

So in a brief search for site 161 2 weeks ago, I discovered I can receive Zone 1 from the Patchogue rail with no antenna on the scanner. This monopole is there but comes up as being the expired 218mhz stuff.

The antenna in the background is PSEG.

161 was weak there but was strong in Mastic and Bohemia. Came and went on other parts of the Island between Sayville and Mastic. Checked Ronkonkoma and could not receive it. Hadn't much time that day and going to try with sdr/laptop and yagi next time.

Since the system is on the State license there probably is no individual site data to show up on antenna searches.

TBTA might be in the process of migrating away from their conventional analog. Have heard TGs 9142 and 9143 (I believe 9141 too) all with sporadic TBTA related traffic and radio testing in the past few weeks.

Have heard 9139 (it's in the database) being used in regards to the multi agency task force cracking down on license plate fraud.
