Unitrunker says yes, encrypted. Probably strapped to the talkgroup.

Looking at radio IDs I agree with your deduction that 1021 is main and 1022 is Englewood, and I believe from the RIDs and affiliations that 1023 will be EMS Main and 1024 will be EMS Englewood. All of the above have been logged using both Phase I and II. That's all I've logged off the citywide site so far in that "block" of groups but I'd expect more above 1024 eventually.

If I might ask, what RID affiliations did you see on 1023 and 1024?

Have voice hits from 1250111, 1590021, 1700001, 1800001, 1754531, 1906867, 1944111 on 1023: most coming from 1754531. Voice hits from 1250111, 1450161, 1590021, 1800001, and 5754388 on 1024. Many more affiliations on both, too many to list. 1730591 - which if I read the ID right is Ambulance 59 - has affiliated with both 1021 and 1023 several times, as have 17545xx and 18554xx ranges which correct me if I'm wrong are EMS admin staff. Being out in the suburbs I'm not as familiar with Chicago's numbering.

Encrypted Phase 2 traffic heard this morning on TGID's 1010 and 1011. Many "command staff" radios keyed up on 1010, HazMat Coordinator (5-1-0) portable radio being used and talking to 4-8-6 on TGID 1011. TGID 1010 possibly the "new" Command Channel? 1011 possibly the "new" Joint Ops/Haz Mat Channel? Also saw some exempt rank key ups on TGID 1023, which is possibly the new EMS Main Channel? I'm sure more to come...

Thanks for the info, and you're right about many of your guesses.

Is there anyone close to Site-3 (O'Hare site) to confirm if Aviation Security and/or Universal Security (Rovers) are using the system? I'm not close enough.. it's low powered.

I'm right on the edge but I should have a good enough lock on the control channel, I'll run UT on it and on the old Motorola system and see if anything new comes up.

It was mentioned today during the 0845 hrs CFD Radio test that "Security is on their new radio system". Should be easy to catch as they're the busiest agency there..

Didn't catch anything new, so unless they're on the same talkgroup as CPD they're not on the P25 system.

Ok, thanks for checking over the weekend. I'm a little out of range from the analog and Site-3 to check myself. I do get some of the control channel data from the UHF-T system at time, so I'll have to give that a listen. Might also take a drive one day too. I'm sure it'll be in the 2500 range as that's most of the traffic I caught so far from O'Hare.

Battalion chiefs were reporting to the radio shops for radio reprogramming. Saw many key-ups on TGID 1010 (CFD Command?) as well as TGID 1021 (CFD Main?)

I was up there today and both the 800 analog trunking and UHF-T system were silent. No control channel data on UHF-T system which is very unusual.

Do you have access to TETRA? I'm going to guess that system is being used for Aviation Security and MTD's (Motor Truck Drivers) now.

Interesting you had nothing from either, I have 100% decodes on the control channel from both the UHF and 800 systems. 800 system is pretty much dead, but the UHF is active with affiliations and voice traffic. I've been looking for anything TETRA to pop up but haven't found anything. SOMETHING I have has to be able to do it.

Speaking of affiliations, there were encrypted hits on all of the suspected fire/EMS talkgroups yesterday, but only from IDs that I think belong to CPD. They were up in the 500xxxx and 510xxxx range. All but one of these radios also has sizeable history on TG 5130. No known fire ID's showed encryption on the talkgroups.

I probabaly wasn't close enough, but when I get north of I 290 on I 294, I usually get data and I was a little west, thanks for clearing that up.

With the report of the 800 analog system being dead, that would leave me to believe TETRA is up and running. I'm surprised by this since Midway's Aviation Security is active on the city's P25 system, and TETRA might be in use at O'Hare?

Yes, the 500xxx/51xxxx Radio ID's are CPD. I've heard many of them between Midway & O'Hare CPD talkgroups is the way I can be sure.

You've got it. TETRA signal on 855.3875. VERY weak from my location, but it is active. Some encrypted, some in the clear.

I'll make a separate thread from this one since it is off topic, but the TETRA system is active with 3 frequencies. I believe there to be patches to both the new P25 system and the old UHF system but I can't confirm that yet. I did submit it to the database so it should show up there once the admins get to it.

Again, I will create a thread specifically for the TETRA system to keep this thread on target.

Over the past week, still seeing frequent key-ups on the system. All identified as CFD companies...Battalion Chief portables seemed to be the focus.
