I know that they're portables or mobiles based on the IDs, and I also know whoever wrote that has it backwards
Yeah when I start getting ID's for a new town I take my best guess on which standard they follow, obviously if they're transmitting OTA aliases that narrows things down.

I have not heard anything from the town on what system the Board of Education is moving to. I don't think their busses are allowed on CLMRN.

That fire department radio with that ID be inside the radio I got this off of Facebook. I also have animal control radio ID but I’m not home right now.

The Fire Department should be off the LTR system. They are still cross patching to the long time used 154.445 so their Task Force partners can monitor them. Once the Highway Department and EMS finish learning to use the new radios, they will full switch over. EMS has all the radios installed. They can only work on a few police cars at a time so they will take longer to switch over.

OK, but what about the school system? Are they gonna stay on there or are they going to a DMR system and do we know if the police department brings their portables home or they get assigned a new radio all the time?

I might have heard a while back what the schools are going to, but I don't remember. I had always shut them off because they talk too much, and I miss everything else. I have not heard anything about what the police are doing with their radios.

All right, no problem. I was just wondering about the school system and with the PD is going to do with their radios just because I logged into my my RADIOS. I usually do badge numbers if they get assigned that radio permanently.

It sounds like the police switched off the LTR system. I'm only hearing them on CLMRN.

Most of the day they were off the LTR. I have one scanner dedicated to just Newington and the LTR was dead, but they were going strong on CLMRN. So I stopped monitoring the LTR system. For the most part they switched over.

The Fire Department said they are off the LTR. But they will stay on the 154.445 crosspatch. The last Board meeting said it could be February or even March before everyone is off the LTR. Everything I monitor has switched over or soon will be. I'm not sure what the school's plans are. I know they have a lot of new equipment on the Callahan Tower in town for future use.
