Anyone know if the SOW is still in the Clinton area, or have they started build for new site yet? Also any word on progress of Hinds conversion progress?

Same thing still on there own system at the moment,
Rankin is now mswin and Madison s.o. is on a nxden format and the oes aka fd are analog and the cities in Madison are on mswin except canton pd and fd.

Warren SO is MSWIN and the Warren/Vicksburg TRS... Hinds Public Safety except Byram are on the Hinds TRS. Byram is MSWIN. Rankin is MSWIN. Yazoo is both MSWIN and the Yazoo LTR. City of Madison, and Ridgeland are MSWIN, rest of Madison LEA's are NXDN, FD's mostly analog with an interop patch on the MSWIN. Simpson is mixed MSWIN, LTR, DMR, and conventional VHF. Copiah is moving onto the MSWIN but also still uses the VHF. I think that covers the Metro area for ya.

The P25 Upgrade to convert to MSWIN.... Vicksburg side of the lic is in! Note, P25 Phase II LSM. Warren Co side should be popping up in updates soon.

Ok so these frequencies are for Vicksburg on MSWIN?

They are for the City of Vicksburg (Motorola Smart Zone)TRS, which is half of the Vicksburg/Warren County (Motorola Smart Zone)TRS. The other half is the Warren County (Motorola Smart Zone)TRS. They combined into an single Motorola Smart Zone system a few years ago. The whole system is about to upgrade to an (Motorola ASTRO-25) P25 phase II capable LSM system, and convert to an MSWIN site. Hinds , as well as DeSoto, possibly Tunica and at least one other will all be doing this over the next year or so. They follow Jones, Forrest, Lee, Washington, Rankin and others in the transitions. By Next Fall/Winter, Hinds, DeSoto, Warren, possibly Tunica will be fully MSWIN if all goes according to planning.

Just a little history on Warren TRS: When Warren County, and City of Vicksburg first implemented TRS back in the day, they were separate systems. County had an Motorola Smart Net, using analog, and digital of the ASTRO (Which fit the APCO P25 CAI format) flavor. City had an Motorola Smart Net using analog and digital of the VSELP flavor. You could not monitor the VSELP format at all as there was never an scanner made, or software that followed it. Then Vicksburg and Warren County came to an agreement, and signed MOU's merging the 2 systems into one. This was upgraded to an full Motorola Smart Zone using the ASTRO format. It uses analog, and digital (P25 CAI) TG's. It is now about to under go upgrades to the Motorola ASTRO-25 format, which is fully P25, and will use the 7.X version of ASTRO-25 bringing it to Phase II capabilities, and then will merge with the MSWIN, to become an 4 site simulcast cell. This will allow the entire county to use the MSWIN, and have all the advantages of the statewide system. They will also have smoother interop with LA using ISSI with the LWIN for events such as disaster coordination for Hurricane Evacuations, New Madrid Fault Zone events, etc... And also for mutual aid for the various LEA's and such as needed.

Would be the best bet. From what I hear, WCSO, and VPD will use TDMA (P25 Phase II), unsure on WCEMA/Fire yet, or VFD. MDOC will have to finally make up its mind and upgrade soon to the MSWIN or upgrade that ancient EDACS TRS to P25 so they can interop smoothly and not depend on others to provide radios.... (Hint hint, we know you guys are reading the forums, time to get it on or get off the pot!)

AFRRN? Yeah lot of TDMA.. and all the LEA on the coast is E..... A little less so up mid state and northern part.... And once BHam joins fully, more TDMA.. And a lot of the PD will go E... hopefully not all of BPD and JCSO.... At least Mobile you can still hear for now.. But again, once they go AFRRN the LEA goes fully E from the info we have so far. At least on MSWIN, there is little E in use thus far.
