That's the other site, on Mount Davis.

I don't think this site will be part of the P25 Phase 2 system. The same FRN was used to obtain all of the VHF narrowband licenses for DCNR's VHF upgrade. If there is nothing licensed as FB8 at a site, I don't think it will be used.

Now, that doesn't mean that down the road, they can't get a modification. But, if the frequency isn't clean for a wide area, they're not going to want to use it for the TRS. Obtaining clear spectrum was one of the biggest challenges for the Phase 2 system and a reason the system is multiband. There just wasn't enough available clear VHF spectrum in congested metro areas.

Oh, I believe you are correct. I didn't even realize that was the DCNR channels for the Mount Davis repeater.

109 sounds like it might be a Game Commission unit. NW PA is District 1 for PGC. I saw a PowerPoint presentation from the game commission the other day that confirms PGC is active on the new system in district 1

Correct. This morning I was able to associate it with talkgroup 12000. Again clear voice.

As I was poking around the FCC site I stumbled into WQLM930, and according to the listed information this site is local to me. Any idea if this will be part of the new StarNet system ? I haven't seen any of this information posted anywhere else, I even checked DCNR and PSP nothing there.

ULS License - Public Safety Pool, Conventional License - WQLM930 - Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

After some further investigation, I was able to determine that these are part of the DCNR system.

Talkgroups 10130 & 10131 have been extremely active with encrypted traffic this afternoon on the Erie site.

Okay, I understand where my confusion came from. I was observing the FCC applications for this service, not the licenses. I knew I had seen some kind of activity at the Mount Davis tower. This is what I was thinking about: http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/ApplicationSearch/applMain.jsp?applID=8347817 This is an inactive application for a new PA-STARNet site on Mount Davis.

Here is the license associated with that application: http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/license.jsp?licKey=3644652

I'll be able to start monitoring on 10/13. With this long list, I'll be able to tell right away if my 436 is set
up correctly!

The activity is not continuous. It seems to run in groups lasting up to perhaps one half hour or less and then quiet for awhile. The 3rd was very active and so was the 4tth. Today is very quiet. Although I did get Game Comm 136 in clear voice. Most seems to be during the 0800 - 1700 time frame leading me to think it is testing.

Can somebody up in the NW frontier confirm the frequencies for sites 1-007 (Cussewago) and 1-011 (Erie)? 141.415 is listed in the database for both.

Also, if you have information to add for the system in the way of tower sites, simulcast sites, confirmed talkgroups, etc, please use the database submission option. There is a tab at the top of the database page that would take you here:

https://www.radioreference.com/apps/submit/?sid=9276

Sending updates via PM or the forums can lead to missed data.

Things like unconfirmed talkgroups can, ideally, be collaborated on via the wiki page for the system or discussed here in the forum. That stuff should not be sent in as a submission since it is not included on the database page.

I assume you mean 151.415. That is the control channel for Erie. The 3 frequencies listed in the data base for Erie are correct and correspond to license WQWA746 (That is where I came up with them.). I have been monitoring the Erie site for a week now and they are the ones logged.

Yes, fat fingers. I figured it was going to be right for that site since it is the control channel. Seems like the other site would be close enough that there would be an issue reusing that frequency, though.

Yes the towers are only 30 miles or less apart. Due to what we call the I-90 ridge, where the 911 center & Erie site tower are located, I have very poor reception of anything to the south. I will give it a try next week since we have some rainy days in the forecast.

The freqs I am seeing on the ProCom96 is: 151.3475, 151.3025, 151.3175. The 151.3025 is the control channel.

I'm still kinda new to the Phase II stuff and the 436 BCD, I know how talkgroups work, but not sure about the radio affiliations by talkgroups you've posted here. Are those the individual radios on the system that have shown up on those talkgroups? Do those users show up on the 436 display?
