I don't listen all day, but if the Game Commission is using this system as their main one now, I sure don't hear them much, and not really any calls to investigate, etc.

I did just hear the Game Commision call out on Beach 11 at Presque Isle to check duck blinds.

I'm trying to pin down the location of site 016. Since there is no license to be found for this site!! it is interesting. Can someone more knowledgeable than I tell if the bowtie antennas above and below the dishes in these pictures are directional VHF antennas.

This the southeast corner of the tower. I am getting a strong signal several miles south and east of this location with a fairly sharp cutoff to the west and a lesser cutoff on the north side, however that is from fairly close to the tower.

Is this the tower at the 911 Center, Erie County?

This antenna looks very similar to the one I just found on the peninsula, around Beach 9 by the maintenance building. Not sure if it's brand new or not.

Anything new on this system lately? I still have not heard PennDOT on the Erie site.

You just found it! That tower was put sometime between 10/2008 and 09/2010. It is the location of site 016. It is also used for the Open Sky system and possibly Millcreek Fire PI repeater. It was also used for the old DCNR ranger & lifeguard system.

Not very observant, huh? I happened to be fishing in that area and looked up - and there it was! I was wondering how those agencies were using that rundown little tower at the ranger station. And the Erie County system will be using that tower also.
Seems strange with a big tower like that that the lifeguards on Beach 6 using Opensky couldn't even hear on their portables walking the beach. They need a separate mobile antenna attached to their stand to hear anything at all!

what kind of info are you looking for? i can tell you the seneca site is up and running. i dont have a phase 2 scanner to decode but it is on the air and afaik psp is using it already.
i can try putting the other sites in and seeing if they are on the air but can't confirm any traffic.

Based on the fact that there is no site officially "on the air" in Westmoreland yet, I changed the site that was in the database to the Seneca tower site that is supposed to be on the air. The WQVL664 site in Westmoreland shares a frequency. I think this site was originally misidentified because of this frequency that shows up on both licenses.

These sites are all on the air. I need the over the air data for each site in order to add them to the database.

RFSS, site number, control channel.

As long as a scanner can handle a P25 Phase 1 system, yes it will give you the RFSS-Site info. It will not give you any information about any site neighbors - no scanner provides that at this time, that I know of.

OK this being the 1st high site p25 system, I don't have alot of experience with it. The rfss site info, is that what is displayed on the screen? If so I believe I posted earlier with the Seneca site.

What scanner are you using? This link provides a section on the "analyze" feature for the PRO-106 and related scanners which is what I am familiar with for site analyzing. The explanations on terminology may be useful for what you see on your particular scanner.

If the link doesn't put you right there, look for the "Tune Search Analyze" section:
[link]http://new.marksscanners.com/106_197/106_197.shtml#tune search[/link]

If the above link doesn't work, use this and scroll down to the correct section:
Easier to Read Pro-651/652/106/197 - WS1040/1065 - PSR 500/600 Digital Scanner Manual

For the database, we need confirmation on:

-System ID
-RFSS ID
-Site Number
-Site NAC (optional)
-WACN
-Primary and alternate control channel frequencies. Using a scanner and not additional software (like Unitrunker, PRO96COM, etc), you might only be able to get the primary control channel.
-Other site frequencies in use. It is possible, as the system builds out, that some sites may have Part 22 frequencies incorporated and they won't show up on a typical FCC site license.

I should also add that database information should be submittedvia the gray "submit" tab found on the database page for the new system.

Database page:
https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=9276

Direct link to the submission tab here:
https://www.radioreference.com/apps/submit/?sid=9276

Posting updates in the forums can lead to those updates getting lost. DB Admins do not monitor the forums for database submissions. Sometimes we see stuff that should get added and sometimes not...unless it is sent in the right way.

I don't have the frequencies entered for the 016 Erie site (Presque Isle). Am I missing any clear voice activity, or should I enter those as a separate favorites list, or as an addition to the 011 favorites list I have now somehow?
