The District 6 service patrols are now operating on the system. They seem to spin a wheel to decide which talkgroups they're going to use. I have noted the various trucks talking to the TCC on the following:

11686D6 Traffic Control Center 1
11687D6 Traffic Control Center 2
11688D6 Traffic Control Center 3
11689D6 Traffic Control Center 4
11690D6 Traffic Control Center 5
11904D6 Tow

For a time, I thought it may have been a specific talkgroup dedicated to a specific highway in the area. But, nope.

As far as the specific site, that's a tough one. The radios at the traffic control center typically affiliate to 1.75 or 1.148. The trucks will bounce from site to site as they're on the road. The I-76 and I-95 patrols should normally affiliate with the two Philly towers (1.83, 1.91). But, they could also hit the two Willow Grove sites (1.81, 1.82), too, depending on where they are.

Anybody figure out what simplex frequencies users of this system might use to talk around/talk off it?

I've found 155.475 VLAW31 in FM being used by State Police to communicate with local police.
PSP seems to use VLAW 31 encrypted.. at least in the Lehigh Valley

The talkgroups above have been used by the safety patrols for 76, 95, 476, 422, 30, and 309.

Are you hearing these on the 800 or VHF frequencies? Thanks.

Let me clarify. Why I am asking is...am I more likely to hear DOT on VHF or 800 sites? I am asking because my reception of the VHF site for my area is spotty, while the 800 site is good. Just wondering if I will miss much listening to DOT just on the 800 site. MONY02 (1.81, 1.82) - are they on the same tower? Thanks.

I believe I hear most on uhf 1.69 because "the box" is in coatesville, so it must affiliate with the site from time to time, you'll only hear traffic on any site if a radio is on the site being monitored.

It all depends on where they are..

I can't remember who had asked about receiving the ALLE Simulcast site on the SDS100. I receive it best with the Invert filter

I logged traffic on site 1.70 Devault VHF all day today. At different times throughout the day, there were affiliations from the radios used by the trucks for 30, 76, 95, 309, 422, and 476.

I’ll check the Philly VHF site tomorrow. That one is harder to get a good signal for logging.

I got the Philly VHF site 91 today and finally heard a few comms for traffic incidents on 76. Tomorrow I'll try Philly 800. A couple weeks ago i had that one on for hours and didn't hear anything even after passing a wreck on 76 with PennDot on location. That prompted me to ask about these.

Just an update. Several times traveling up I-76 WB through Philly and leaving my G5 on during the course of a day it seems there's very limited traffic on any of the regional PennDot talkgroups off the Philly 800 site. In the course of 10-12 hours maybe about 10-15 hits. Some are for I-76 and I-95 in the city. That site has also received incidents on 422, I-476 in Delco, and I-295 in Bucks County. This week I'll be trying the Devault site which I receive believe it or not from about Marlton, NJ on westward.

Hearing 11928 on Site 85 which having a look at the wiki (& not seeing it there) I'd have to surmise is another DOT Maintenance District 5-3 Crew TG. Locations heard are in Lehigh County

Did they possibly move the WEST03 A/G site to another tower location? It's been about 8 months since I've been able to pick up any 700MHz P25 activity from just east of Pittsburgh. I wonder if they moved the tower closer to Johnstown where there is an active PA ANG base
