Encryption

How about everyone quit complaining and start contacting you House & Senate rep. Remember this is technically our system, we the taxpayers paid for it. The airwaves belong to the people. Start demanding encryption be removed on all non-critical traffic. And this goes for local systems too. Lawrence Co has had a few very shady police issues but all local traffic is hidden. This must end. We must use the power we have. Don't buy the BS of officials with the officer safety issues. As long as it not a critical situation we have the right to listen and to go to any PD and see the logs of that days calls. We are NOT safer with this hiding crap. Act now.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you are found to violate this announcement you post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place.

Ellendale is showing 1-071 as a new neighbor with cc 151.385.

I also appears the YORK16 Andersontown/Conewago site is online with 155.445 as the CC, site 1-058. Can anyone monitor that one for some info? I am not receiving it from where I am today.

In addition, if anyone can pick up any of the known live sites around those above and get a list of Site Neighbors/Peers, that would be helpful as some of the sites may have an updated Neighbor/Peer list now. The sites for which it would be handy to have a current Neighbor/Peer list (and you can look these up in the RRDB to get the frequencies to check) are:

Yes the first energy 4 site system has been undergoing buildout for about 2 weeks. No traffic yet. Testing of keefers, cornwall and the 3rd site should be very soon. 4th site Truce, I have no info about

Both 001-004 Ellendale (VHF) and 001-052 Harrisburg (800) continue to carry a variety of traffic. Site 001-051 Blain (VHF) did not carry any traffic except station ID for the short time I was able to monitor it. While I had the software on Blain, the other scanner was regular scanning, so I confirmed that the difference in traffic for those three sites.

If that's anything more than conventional P25 frequencies, you should be able to get a System ID and Site ID on any of those sites when monitoring them with a scanner. And that is what we need, System ID and Site ID.

Anybody want to start keeping track of what PSP talkgroups they are seeing on a particular site? Regular affiliation with a particular site could help narrow down which talkgroup belongs to which barracks.
