I don't think that answered the question.

Sounds like you are making the assumption that the x36 is EOL. For the sake of all those x36 owners out there, I'm sure they hope his isn't true....
Wouldn't surprise me at all.I own both and if that is the case so be it.

If so, Uniden should just come out and say it...

Well glad some will be getting a new scanner,but the scanners that were put out like the 536 and the 436 could use upgrades everyone that has them has been putting out money for different thing the this company has offered and not to continue but put out a new radio ALL WRONG. we as customers deserve better, thank you for nothing Uniden.

There will be some for whom uniden can never do enough. Solving LSM is no small advancement. Color display in a portable - again a first.

So LSM has been improved, but not fixed? Pardon my skepticism, and the collective skepticism of the RR community, but exactness and specificity would be really helpful here.

Have you listened to the videos?

No radio will ever be perfect - Motorola included.

Had we announced NXDN, there would have been as much or more negativity because we hadn't solved LSM issues.

Essentially, you won't know until (a) it is real, (b) you buy one - and (c) run it side-by-side with another radio. They haven't said they solved it - they said "it works better"....

The funny thing is that when I first got my Unication, I found myself doing the cautious "sweet spot", "careful not to move the radio" dance for simulcast systems..... It took a while, but eventually, I realized that for the Unication, it just didn't matter - it worked no matter where I put it. That's the true test.

I couldn't figure out how many different trunking formats we now support (and/or might support in the future).
* Motorola P16
* APCO P25 Phase I
* APCO P25 Phase II
* APCO P25 One-Frequency Trunking
* EDACS Narrow
* EDACS Wide
* LTR

Ok, that is without upgrades, now add:
* MOTOTRBO Connect +
* MOTOTRBO Capacity +
* DMR Tier III
* Hytera XPT
* DMR One-Frequency Trunking
* NXDN 4800
* NXDN 9600

That is 14 and I still feel like I missed counting something.

It was hard to compare to the Unication. I had to turn off most of what I was scanning on the SDS100 to make a fair comparison.

There was a statement made that indirectly speculated (or would cause some to speculate that) the existing radios have reached some type of limit that would preclude a NXDN upgrade for them....

Is that the case or not? Can a 436 handle the ProVoice, DMR, and some potential future NXDN upgrade all that the same time or has the line reached some type of limitation (can't get NXDN on it, have to pick 2 of the three, etc.)?

Yep, AOR for me as well. Today was a bit of a disappointment.

Same here, My TRX-1 & 2 does just fine.

I feel bad for all those loyal Uniden users that waited so long and won't be getting NXDN for their flagship scanners.

I don't recall ever saying that, but have seen similar comments from others. In any case, that (and all the NXDN) should really be fodder for a different thread. This thread is intended for discussion of what the SDS100 does do.

Why do people relate NXDN to rail fans so much. There is a huge demand for NXDN. Not just rails, by far.
Our whole county is on NXDN.

It might have something to do with the fact RR is the largest nxdn user.

9th bullet point down. The SDS-100 will have NXDN. How many times does it have to be repeated?

I believe you question is clearly answered in post #145. "Had we announced NXDN"

That's saying, to me at least, that NXDN is or near ready.

Will you ignore the question in those threads as well? We just want to know if we're holding out for nothing.
