Integrating GPS into the design would cost less than $20 on Uniden's end, more likely less than $10. I charge what I do because I have to fabricate wiring harnesses and make precise cutouts in the case to retrofit GPS, in addition to the cost of parts and materials.

The main page has never listed this system as 'Simulcast". I have never had any simulcast issues monitoring this system, on everything from a BCD436HP and a Home Patrol 2, to a BCD396XT and BCD996XT, which is apparently why I wasn't even aware it was a simulcast system. Do a video of the issues on the Columbus Site if you want to show an improvement. The fact that COIRS was chosen over the nearby Columbus Site in the video, with Columbus' known simulcast issues, makes me suspicious in and of itself.

Interesting thread. Now back to listening to my vintage analog trunking scanner. Still very useful in my area. In fact, a crystal controlled scanner would still be good for numerous agencies. And I'm in a major metro area of SoCal.

I was using the BC-GPSK as a price guide. What I would use more often is Bluetooth.
I hope there is enough room in the 100 to add your gps.

Curious about the SDR part and using with something like SDR#. It says DC to daylight. What is the frequency range of the SDR part?

Look everybody has been after Uniden to release something that handles CQPSK P25 Distortion. Now we have it (well we know of it) and people still complain. Uniden will never make everyone truly happy but this makes me pretty damn happy to see P25, Provoice, DMR, and NXDN trunking available in a scanner. The only thing I have to mention is I hope the internal speaker is loud! Like two way radio loud I hate when i have to roll up my windows in the car just to listen to a call. But with that said if they release it tomorrow I'm buying 2 . And hopefully there will be a base unit not to far behind the release of this unit.

Which admittedly sounds the same as my G4. I'd like to hear how the SDS100 does better than a Unication.
It says releae date 2 quarter that means April May June and my guess would be Ham Radio Outlet

History – Central Ohio Interoperable Radio System
The system is divided into two simulcast cells. An eleven site, eight channel system serves all of the safety forces in Delaware County while a three site, seven channel system serves Dublin, Worthington and Hilliard. The COG built and owns the south subsystem while the Delaware County subsystem, along with the master site, continue to be owned by the Delaware County Commissioners.
My son and I frequent the NS Rail often off Radnor RD and 23 and had many issues with COIRS. Even in our excursions downtown Delaware (The Thermon Burgers) decode sucks with the WS1080,325P2, HP1, HP2 or the 436.

How well does the unication hear DMR? How many bands? P25 phase II? Field programmable? Price?
A few answers:
Better digital LSM, simulcast and weak-signal P25 performance achieved by using a completely different receiver design. In terms of changes, this is a bigger challenge than the switch from crystals to PLL tuning.
Uses the same SMA antenna.
Range improvement for digital is hugely better than the x36s.
I believe 32G is the max SD size.
USB 2 is same as x36. USB 1, I have to check (it is currently unused).
As to NXDN, if I promise to fully address this next week, can you promise to keep this thread on the topic of the SDS100? I am only here for one more day, then have to go set up a trade show in Louisville.

If the Uniden SDS100 comes even close to decoding as good as the Unication, I don't see any reason that the G4/G5 would be a viable option anymore.
Mr. Blanton knows us "scanner heads" too well ! ;.)
Heck, I've already started stuffing my extra dollars in an envelope marked "New Scanner".
Secondary market for used scanners is about to get flooded.

I saw the question but didn't see the answer. What kind of connector for GPS? Would much prefer the 325P2 style for convenience of travel.
