I have been reading and researching and trying to understand some things, but I would like to just ask some of you all what u think, and so I can get an answer to my questions specifically instead of just reading what someone else did or tried or found out what worked best.

1. So which is best for analog between 150.0000 to 160.0000 FM or NFM? And what about 450.0000 to 460.0000 FM or NFM?

2. And what about DMR OFT, is FM or NFM better for that?

3. I have a BCD536HP and a SDS100 I use sentinel to program them I have read that for DMR OFT that the digital threshold mode and level works best at Manual+7 the default setting is Auto+8 is one better than the other for DMR?

4. When setting up a DMR trunked system using sentinel, is there a wildcard number ? I have read conflicting answers.

5. What about NXDN trunked is there a wildcard number for that ? What about IDAS?

6. P25 trunked has a wildcard that is 65535 correct or wrong?

7. What about NXDN and P25 OFT, do I create those the same way as the DMR OFT are or are those structured differently ?

8. And finally, is about how a DMR OFT is programmed, Proscan will ask you, and it will put each frequency into its own site with one channel and department I have also tried with sentinel, and it will just create one department and the rest is the sites which contain the frequency, I will add two screenshots showing what I mean the first one is proscan and the second pic is sentinel. My questions are which is best, or does it not matter? Can I put more than one frequency in a site, or is that wrong?

Thanks to anyone who responds to these questions, if you can please add pictures on question 7 as I learn better by actually seeing how stuff is done. Thanks again!

It all depends on the transmitting frequency. FM = 25KHz wide channels, and NFM is 12.5 KHz wide.

2. And what about DMR OFT, is FM or NFM better for that?
NFM. Though, technically DMR would be half the width of NFM. But, for your case, definitely not FM.

3. I have a BCD536HP and a SDS100 I use sentinel to program them I have read that for DMR OFT that the digital threshold mode and level works best at Manual+7 the default setting is Auto+8 is one better than the other for DMR?

This is one of those things you'd have to play around with to see what works better, depending on your location. There's no one size fits all for that setting.

4. When setting up a DMR trunked system using sentinel, is there a wildcard number ? I have read conflicting answers.
ID Search would be what you want to be using as opposed to ID Scan for the system.

6. P25 trunked has a wildcard that is 65535 correct or wrong?
Some radios use that - but just set the system to ID Search for the same effect.

Ok thanks for that a specific frequency is 155.49000 it's the washington CO va sheriff office would that be FM or NFM as the best?

now what about when u click to create a channel in sentinel the default TG is 0 so just leave it at that with ID search on?

I have a NXDN OFT that is conventional and it shows TGID 65535 which confused me even more.

Do you know about which option is best for setting up a OFT based on my pics i added? ...the proscan and sentinel pics i added shows a DMR OFT. would it be the same for NXDN OFT and P25 OFT? I'd like to know the right way those should be done.

Thanks again
