You will need to have the DMR upgrade in your scanner to hear them.

Here are the control channels and talk groups for their system:

There’s a program called Freescan that can help you program the system. Also, there are programming videos on YouTube that are easy to follow.

Good luck!!

i have the upgrade and i think i got it figured out, seems to be picking up fine. I just wasnt sure if i had to add all the frequencies or what. i know Mercy Hospital DMR is encrypted i believe, also i have freescan and i heard it don't do DMR programming unless it got updated

I'm very new to this scanner stuff and brought a BCD436HP. I wanted to be able to listen to North Canton and the City of Canton PD/FD. After reading these posts it sounds like I wont be able to hear them with this device? I hear everything around Akron but nothing in Stark Co. Is there anyway I can listen to them?

Washington Twp. Volunteer Fire Department

We have made the switch!!
Thanks to some recent grants we have received from the state fire marshall, Washington Twp has been able to purchase some new radio communications equipment to allow us to operate on the Ohio Marcs Digital system fully. This new system goes in effect today for us! This allows us better communication through out the township and with our neighboring departments. For those of you who are Scanner Listeners, we are no longer using our conventional 460.575 frequency. With the help of the grants we purchased 17 portable radios and 11 voice pagers!

I've had mine locked out too, which TG are you guys hearing, and anything from Louisville since both were using the same for dispatch? It'll be nice to hear them again.

Is there anyone who is following this thread that might have the ability to run DSDPlus or something to check for a DMR control channel on a site in either Waynesburg or Navarre area? If so, please respond and I'll PM you the info, or PM me or shoot me an email mtindor @ gmail. This is a "Stark County" thread but appears to be predominantly about the Stark County Simulcast of MARCS. So I don't want to clutter it up with other stuff.

Thanks
Mike

I believe EMT inc. And Stark summit have switch from the MARCS system to the Mototrbo DMR system. Anyone know more about this and if you’re able to monitor them? I’m not familiar with DMR systems. I know their Marcs channels were encrypted.

10-4. It is highly doubtful that they went to a TRBO system. They have been encrypted on MARCS for years. They are not going to switch to another system without encryption. And the only system that would provide anywhere near the coverage they need would be TriConnex. And historically I've never seen an ENC talkgroup on Triconnex. Of course I have not monitored it much lately.

If they are no longer on MARCS, they either moved strictly to phones or perhaps to Triconnex or some other system but usingly mostly LTE devices.

One thing is just about for sure is that wherever they are, they will be encrypted.

What MotorTRBO system are you referring to? EMT has facilities up and down eastern Ohio and in Northern Panhandle of WV. The only MotoTRBO system to cover the majority of that area is TriConnex. I parked on various TriConnex sites all day, and there was no sign of EMT (or any new unknown encrypted talkgroups).

So if they went to a MotoTrbo system, it'd be nice if you would share what MotoTrbo system you believe that to be.

No sign of them on MARCS today. And historically, both EMT MARCS talkgroups were very active, especially on MARCS sites in Stark / Carroll / Harrison Cos.

Mike,

EMT at one point had their own UHF system before they went to MARCS. I doubt it would have the coverage that MARCS provides..

I'm aware. I had no notion that they were using a single repeater somewhere. I'm just wondering if they totally went to phone, or if they are using Wave or some other LTE devices on somebody else's system. I just know I haven't seen them on MARCS. Before they were on MARCS, they used 453.6125 (WPXB519 expired) here in Carroll Co.
