What is this? Has a civilian reg. Looks like N85PA which isn't valid.

Caught it departing Oceana right after I stopped to watch departure for awhile. Right after this were two VMAQ-2 EA-6Bs and then lots of F-18s including one from VFC-12 with the aggressor paint job.

Also saw a Pilatus PC-12 land. Couldn't make out the callsign.

Later had F-18s passing overhead RTB Oceana while out shooting clay pidgeons in my bro-in-law's backyard. :)
And there goes another one. They were active at Fentress last night.

A few years ago, I got turned around at McGuire's gate for having a scanner. I even tried to argue the point that it wasn't on the "banned items list". But they didn't want to know anything. I had to bring it back to my truck and then return.

08/14/17- On a different note, the Trump CAP fighters have changed. This morning it's SLAM 01/02. And they're using the AMC freq 349.4 as an interplane.
Probably MA f15's. They use that freq for a/a sometimes.

I'm at Summit Point Raceway in WV for the weekend. Yesterday around 5:30-6:00pm a flight of three (or maybe fourth trailing the rest) VH-3Ds and two VH-60s flew over heading to the southwest. Never seen anything like that before. Something going on that I missed hearing about?

Would they have been coming from the direction of Camp David? I know there was a high-level meeting there on Friday regarding Afghanistan strategy. Where the copters were headed, I don't know.

Yeah. The direction they were heading seems to match a 224 degree heading from Camp David.

Some people have insisted there are really only two C-32Bs that switch around mode-s hex and tail numbers. I haven't been one to agree and here is solid proof from around noon today. I also "saw" 98-6006 AE0438 on the 18th on what looked like a Crestview > McGuire route around midnight.

C-32 98-6006 went East Sunday morn last logged Israel today as RCH 587.
Heard myself on ATC Northeast bound from Andrews as RCH587.

The two McGuire C-32's 00-9001 and 02-4452 of the 150th SOS are pretty consistent.

C-32's 02-5001,99-6143 and 98-6006 seem to bounce around between stations at Eglin and Pope AFB and rumored to tail swap sometimes between those 3.

99-6143 has not been logged since May down Eglin way.. Maybe getting overhauled.

I'm surprised he's going back there. He's made it well known that the thinks Camp David is a "dump"

Maybe they are going to come up with a North Korea Strategy there---after all it worked so well for Afghanistan. Or maybe a plan to have our Navy not bump into other vessels.

Mark,

I guess you're right. All that work with the YP (Yard Boats) out in Annapolis Harbor just doesn't translate well out in the real world with big ships.

Personally, I think they just rely TOO MUCH on technology and don't do enough human navigation

That's just me talking---I was in the USAF so what do I know about ships :)
