Re: LX-ZAK

Tin,

LX-ZAK is now GL5T c/n 9204 opf Prince Karim Aga Khan.

Tony

Ron, it might have been LX-ZAK, an F-900 from Luxembourg. Had him come through at FL 450. He's a Globaljet aircraft so his flight number would be SVW and some numbers.
Yeah...just found him on Flightaware...his flight is SVW11ZK on his way from Le Bourget (LFPB) in Paris to Lynden Pindling Intl (MYNN) in Nassau.

I noticed that on Flightaware when I looked it up -- and then promptly forgot to change it. After all, about 30 seconds had passed and you don't expect me to remember it for that long, do you? Think I'll change my nickname to TinBrain.
By the way...say LINDEN PINDLING three times fast.

84-0061 was a 9th AS/60th AMW heavy hauler at Travis for a long time and that's what both the SBS and Scramble databases show. However, it has been noted recently flying with the HAGAR callsign which made me change it to the 436th AW at Dover.

You're right with that change - confirmed it in my serial book.

Still nothing much up here. VANDY 20 (T-1A) departed direct FWA...that's the only military activity I've heard all day. Hopefully I'll catch something from AR-455 when it goes active - quick window, though (2200Z-2245Z).

One of the aircraft waiting is SPAR 76 (C-40B, 02-0042, 76th AS Ramstein AB).
Hello to all and sorry for off-topic...
But who can say me when C-40B 02-0042 was transferred from 1st AS Andrews AFB to 76th AS Ramstein AB? All Ramstein info is about the only C-40B 01-0040...
Thanks.

E-8C ACCIDENT REPORT RELEASED

7/9/2009 - LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. (ACCNS) -- A rupture of the number two fuel tank within the left wing of an E-8C surveillance aircraft led to an in-flight emergency at a forward operating location March 13, Air Combat Command officials announced today.
The aircraft was assigned to the 116th Air Control Wing, based out of Robins AFB, Ga., and temporarily deployed in support of overseas contingency operations.
The accident investigation board determined a subcontractor left a mechanical test plug in the climb vent during maintenance which resulted in an increased pressure inside the fuel tank as the aircraft climbed in altitude.
This increased pressure led to a series of noises and vibrations during in-flight refueling, and the crew elected to abort the mission. The crew declared an in-flight emergency and returned to their base where they landed without incident. There were no injuries, and damage to the aircraft is estimated at approximately $25 million.

REACH 8219 (C-5A, 68-0219) is off Patterson at 0110Z, routing KFFO-APE-BLISS-JJH. I think they're headed overseas - maybe meeting up with a tanker off the coast first.

66 pax - could it be a deployment? That seems like an awful lot of space A's, especially with only 73 seats...and there's no way that many people would trust a C-5A to leave on time.

Pete, the DEALER callsign is used by C-130s of the 50th Airlift Squadron at Little Rock.

It's a T-38C, 64-13246 from Vance according to the SBS database.

Just saw a new callsign from a KC-135R (63-7981, 108th ARS IL-ANG Scott). He's using TEFLON 04 (TEFLN04) and currently flying in Florida's airspace. At least that's a callsign I didn't have in my database.
Flying nearby that one is MAINE 92 (KC-135R, 63-8873, 132nd ARS ME-ANG Bangor). That aircraft is in the Scramble database belonging to Altus but it has been reassigned to the 132nd. The SBS database has it correctly because I submitted a change last week and it has been picked up already.

MASH 64 (KC-135R) departed around 1810Z after dropping off aeromeds - direct Grissom.

Just got another new callsign I didn't have in my database...

ARTIK 98 being flown by a C-17A, 99-0170, 517th AS Elmendorf. I notice him on Mode-S climbing out from somewhere in the area. Picked him up at 1702. Looking back in my log, it arrived in this area late in the 1400 hour.

Hmmmm...I mentioned earlier callsign TEFLON 04 being flown by an IL-ANG KC-135. It may be a mission callsign rather than unit callsign since I now have TEFLON 06 (TEFLN06) being flown by 63-8003 of the 108th ARW NJ-ANG McGuire. By the way, Scramble shows that tanker belonging to the 22nd ARW but it's not correct. It has been flying out of McGuire since at least January using callsigns ROCCO and TOPCAT along with the NETTF callsign ETHYL many times. I logged TEFLON 06 here at 1549.
Added: Okay, have that one figured out. TEFLON is the new callsign for the CAP tankers at the Kennedy Space Center during launch. It's starting to look like they've changed the callsigns for the various CAPs all over. In case you missed it, the Guard Dog tanker callsign is now GETTY rather than TANKER that they used for years. (Just got word on the TEFLON from a Florida monitor. Thanks Jack)

And speaking of unusual (well, at least to me)....REACH 809 with a letter suffix all over the place being flown by C-17s from the 437th AW logged today:
REACH 809D = 07-7180
REACH 809Q = 97-0046
REACH 809R = 89-1190
REACH 809U = 97-0048
I've never seen more than one at a time using the same suffix - even with different letter attachments. ARTCC confusion guaranteed?
And let's add one more...a couple of days ago I logged REACH 809 being flown by a B-757 from Omni International.
