A few NG helo freqs that are active daily with Hurricane Sandy relief here in central NJ:
242.4 NJ NG Primary
283.0 This was an old Willow Grove squadron freq that seems to still be in use since these guys moved to Ft. Dix
121.95 Sounds like an alternate freq. Hearing ocassional helo A/A comms
51.50 has been silent so far....usually another A/A
123.1 just heard a noisy helo announcing inbound for a landing. Might have been a Chinook that just flew overhead.
277.8 Heard some weak USN chatter. One ID was DELTA ONE DELTA

The USS Wasp & a couple of other USN ships were off NY/NJ with US Marine 26th MEU on board. D1D Could've been one of them.

Yes I forgot to add it was a stationary signal on 277.8 Not aircraft with noise in background. So most likely a ship.

1834- BICEP/AERO/SMASH flight on 255.0

1908- PAT04 flight of two just flew by. 120.45
1909- Heading back around to the east over top of Dulles.

Anyone know of air to air freqs for the PAT helos?

1916- BLACKJACK1 USCG - operational for air defense mission, w/ DCA tower 134.35

When I've heard PAT flights passing through NJ in the past, they were usually 51.50

Anyone know about a possible scramble tonight? I was in Fairlakes, VA without a scanner on hand and at 2053 I heard a pair of probable F-16s heading west. When I was leaving around 2145 I heard them on 270.275 returning to Andrews.


Seems I was right about a scramble.

1210 local- Caught HAWK 01 (self IDed as flt of 4 F-15) Up the NJ coast at 5,000 ft on 269.0, then down to 2,500 ft to go up the Hudson River.

I shipped off my Radarbox for repair yesterday. Ought to have it back in about a month. Doesn't look like I'll have to pay for the repair even though it's well out of the warranty period.
