@dave3825 Light tropo this morning reveals Site 102 170.8375 and 115 170.8625 marking lines on the SDR, not enough signal for UT.

I was up in Pike County PA the last few days and did check that from up there and did not see anything. Was staying in a resort so antenna options were limited. From when I was receiving it strong on Long Island, tropo maps looked like it might have been coming from southwest of Long Island.

Double check your data, this is as of a few seconds ago. 117 and 127 both active peers of Beacon.
I was monitoring for about 5-10 minutes, but my Window graph in Unitrunker was bouncing. I moved to another location and match what your seeing. Sorry for any confusion.

Site 145 located.

40.770293, -75.061147
Montana Mountain
24 Demeter Road
Harmony Township, NJ

RTL-SDR v. 3
Unitrunker v. 2.1.96

Being submitted. Additionally, I can confirm the system is utilized by more than the USMS. Just a humble suggestion that Department of Justice would be a more appropriate designation.

Nice job and certainly no need to be humble. As you know not a spectator sport.😂

@dave3825 Have some tropo right now. 127 Signal way up (usually at the floor). It has been on Alt 170.9125 for some time. It has the usual peers including reporting Site 129 CC 171.6125 that you hear. I have that tuned now and will see if band opens some. I will leave UT running and see what I catch.

I have been seeing what I believe may be two new P25 CC’s. Only -10db above the floor here in CNJ. Looked back at some screenshots from the past. Signals not present then. No tropo. Not enough signal for UT yet.

Are you in range of any of the other sites in NJ? If its a new site, another NJ site might be showing new neighbor.

Wow what a band opening. I will pull together what I decoded. Still wide open.

I'm going up to Fishkill later today and Mt Beacon and beyond tomorrow and will hopefully (depending on wife) have the 200 scanning the whole way to see if 102 and 129 show themselves anywhere along the way.

Still gathering data however 129 and peers all decoded this AM. Based on propagation and peer reporting I still suspect 129 is in Eastern LI.
Eastern LI?Site 129171.6125170.675a169.6375aNAC 4F9
Peers 117, 122, 127
Trumbull (117) shows 129 as peer.

Edit: right now I am seeing weak signal on 171.6125

I was out in Mastic NY yesterday and while not even close to the East end, I was 20 miles further East than I normally monitor from. Out there with the 200 inside my truck using Remtronics 800, I latched onto site 110, Freehold and site 117, Trumbel CT.

I could not receive 122 Central Islip. I also go not activity on 102 or 129 from there. Next time I am going to bring dongle and laptop.

What did surprise me was latching onto 409.9375 which is USPS from NYC.

Left Fmp24 sitting on 171.6125 and I had to go out. When I came back there were group calls in the event file. Long story short, Fmp24 drifted from 171.6125 to 171.625 which is (by me) Fire Island National Seashore with the same nac of 4F9. While Fmp24 drifted, it still reported activity on the manually tuned freq rather the actual freq receiving the transmission.
