Tropo wrap up 05/20/22. I have 2 photos here. One showing Site 115 peers which I am confident will be found to be in Atlantic City. This shows peer 143 again with a CC 168.8875. Perhaps that might be in Dover Delaware or Millville. I tried for 143 w "No Joy". The second picture shows six sites received (with NAC). From Ct to Long Island to South Jersey. Not much new, but still trying to pin a few known sites down.

When in Fishkill NY and Newburgh NY, I did not receive and thing from 171.6125. Did a vhf search and uhf search and found only the known cc's for that area. Nothing else. Going to kids soccer game out east somewhere Sunday. Gonna bring 436 along.

Starting to have doubts about Site 102 in Nassau. Tropo today permitted a look at both 102 and ACY area 115. The Site 115 peer unknowns location are #143 and #130. Site 102 peers #115 ACY area, #130 (reported in PHL suburbs) and #143 unknown.

Along with @GTR8000 #376 and @dave3825 #373 in this thread, I too am skeptical of the location of Site 102.

Site 130 (Philly Area) I was able to decode peers. Note it is reporting Site 102 as well. Site 102 does not fit with any of these.

Okay folks, we know that Site 102 is not on Long Island, so it has been deleted from the database until located.

Here are the known remaining mystery sites.

Site 129 may be somewhere in the CT/Westchester area given its peers. The remaining three all appear to be located in South Jersey somewhere, if we assume 115 is Atlantic City.

Way to stick with it. Good recap. I have a screenshot of Site 129 peers on 5/20 with opening. On that morning I had Site 129 peers as; Site 117 Trumbull, Site 122 Islip and 127 Plainview. Check your line 129 ”Trumbull” is 117 I believe.

The closer I look at 102 the more I believe it propagates like 115. That was evident in last 24 hours.

102 is coming in weak here,
Is it a constant weak signal or does it fluctuate for you also? I always (and I think others to) got a fluctuating signal indicating possible tropo. A week ago it was kinda strong and last few days nothing more than a little bump on the spectrum that could only be seen with the rf cranked all the way up.

I took the liberty to add Site 115 (ACY?) to @GTR8000 nifty unknown Site locations list in #406. Note w exception 129, these are thought to be in the vicinity of South Jersey. One being closest to being nailed down is 115.

If the trend in New Jersey continues, I would check the NJSP/NJICS sites. Morristown Airport has been the exception but Randolph and Warren County are both on state towers.

From Long Beach Island I am getting site 115 full strength. I think it would be reasonable to assume it is in Atlantic City. The Peers are sites 102, 130, 132, 114, 143 128 & 110.

There's that site 102 again. Would love to know where that one. Do you get signal on 102 at your location?

115 is not Atlantic City...it's much closer to LBI. 102, on the other hand, might just be the Atlantic City site. I guess someone will have to drive around to confirm.

That there is splitting hairs, unless of course someone is in the know perhaps. The distance between ACY and LBI is 10 miles. If I were to be driving that way my first stop would be White House Subs. Kudos @RadioDitch on prevalent ICS sites. Fuzzy memory says one ICS going on top of building in the city. Maybe following trend & colocated.

I'm not sure what map you're looking at, but the distance between LBI and AC is ~23 miles, not 10.

I am using Google Maps. Type each name and it will draw a border around the limits. Border to border is 10 miles. Splitting hairs. Next stop, White House Subs.

ACY is 17.5 miles to the Holgate Parking lot. Either way, splitting hairs to 23, especially as you go north on the island. I’ve posted Unitrunker results from Ship Bottom in #358 and Holgate in #363. From Ship Bottom its an RSSI reported of -48 and -37 from Holgate. I know you need to take that with a grain of salt. It is definitely southern Ocean/north Atlantic County.
