Sitting in the Holgate Parking lot (LBI, Ocean County) with line of site to Atlantic City (not ACY), here is my RSSI. I can do a couple other spots on the island if that would help, let me know.

There are reported to be just shy of 40 sites in the region for this system, with the northernmost site on Mt Beacon. It's unclear as to whether that count of sites includes the individual UHF subsites of the NYC simulcast cell.

When trying to locate some of these sites, don't rule out the possibility of two sites positioned very close to each other, as is the case with Randolph and Morristown. The Randolph site is a mountaintop site that gets out far and wide, while the Morristown site is intended to only cover the airport and immediate surrounding area. It's certainly possible that similar arrangements exist at other area airports.

Also for those running Unitrunker, refer to my previous post where I instructed how to get the control channel frequencies to show up for the adjacent sites, rather than the raw LCN.

TV8 has been a problem for me. I recalled I had a PAR filter. Got that in today and knocked the floor down quite a bit. This will be good for some of the weaker signals. In this picture you can see few of those. Waiting for some tropo.

I wonder what system they would use if they had to travel down here to the DC Metro and interfaced with the DC Inter-agency US Marshals task force? The DC Metro area has deputies that are even from Southwest VA down along the TN/VA line and that is a 7hr drive from DC. Also they have Dept from WVA,MD,DE,DC,and VA. That does cover a very very wide area and there are a mix of systems in all those states as well starting from Smartzone to 700/800 band both phase 1 and phase 2. The only radio that I know of that would work for them to use all those systems would be the moto apx8k units plus when you travel down into SW VA along the TN back up in da hollar, coverage does become an issue as well.

I was in Manhattan last night and came home today. Took LIE all the way into Suffolk county. I did not get any signal on the site labeled Nassau. I have received it in Islip Terrace in the past but not everyday, and some days it was strong and other days it was in the mud. Does anyone out there receive any of the Nassau site?

I am in and out of Nassau quite a bit and never got a signal on my 436 or 200. I have picked it up In Islip Terrace with a rooftop antenna. I really would be surprised if it was in Nassau. @w2lie Have you received any signal in Nassau other than from your home qth?

Site 102 is conspicuously absent from either list. If it is on Long Island, then it's a very low power site that is apparently not a peer of any other site in the area.

It was reported that Site 115 (possibly in the Atlantic City area) was showing Site 102 as a peer, along with Freehold, Trenton, Philly, and Lambertville. That doesn't really sound like a list of peers for a site on Long Island.

Has anyone come across Site 129? Control channel is 171.6125.

I never felt that site was on Long Island from the beginning. When I was able to receive it, it was strong one day and weaker the next, then gone. . On my end it was never a straight solid signal and would fade in and out, like skip. Today I do not receive at all. Was in Manhattan up high last week and did not receive it there either or anywhere on the LIE ( in Nassau ) between NYC and Suffolk County..

8000/8500 both work just fine on Wifi with Smart Connect. They can be in Alaska and as long as they have WiFi be on the system.

Double check that 102 is an active peer of 127, and you're not seeing a stale entry in whatever software you're using. I checked 127 last night and there was no sign of 102.

171.6125 is listed as an alt cc on site 129 but is also listed as a voice channel on site 118 in Morris NJ

171.6125 is 129's control channel, verified multiple times over the past month including last night.

Stale entry it was, as I rebuilt band plan / neighbor list and not showing 102 as peer any longer..

I will have to check my 436 programming as I think I also had 129 set to scan while in Manhattan and did not receive any signal. That is the only peer that's not id'd showing on my end now.
